Thanks for the reply, did you just stop taking the Citalopram the day before you took the sertraline? What dose of Citalopram were you on? Thanks again
To be honest, i dont think you will feel much difference, 30mg of cit is the same dose as 50mg of sert, if your dr has said to stop taking the cit and go straight onto the sert, i would just do it, they are both ssri's and are the same dose. I used to be on sert years ago (100mg), and i thought it was good, but made me sweat a lot, so changed to 20 mg of escitalopram (cipralex) which is a sister to citalopram, and i felt great on them. I came off them 5 years ago (weaned off for 9 mths), and had to go back on ssri's (20mg prozac) in October.
Hi thanks for that, when I started the Citalopram I really thought I was going of my head,& I just couldnt go through that again. Yopu have put my mind at ease I will start tomorrow. Thanks again & have an anxiety free new year.
My sister is on citalopram and she says they're a god send and you wouldnt think there is anything wrong with her.
I came off Citalopram because I was having missed beats in my heart and the doc suggested the switch. Just recently I have been experiencing serious palpitations and actually went to A&E because of it. They did an ECG and told me my heart looks OK. But for some mad reason the palpitations stopped during the 1 minute ECG process. ( That needs looking at..... they should leave you on it for at least an hour or something) Now the doc is referring me to a cardiologist after a 24hr heart monitor identified the palpitations as a reality. Today I did some research on Sertraline and low and behold there is apparently a slew of side effects it can cause included is exactly what I am experiencing. I am now seriously looking at it as the cause. The citalopran was a lot less bothersome compared to this sorry state I find myself in now!
