I got out a hot bath was ok then all of a sudden my heart went up to 200bpm!!! It wouldn’t slow down I felt like I couldn’t breath I started really panicking got to hosptial it was just so packed and there was like over 40 people infront of me and couple hours wait but I just felt abit calmer by then and decided just to come back home because Realistically if something was really wrong I would of dropped dead Iv just taken 2 diazepam to calm me down when I got home ..it’s just my heart rate that scared me and when it wasn’t coming down it was making me panic even more. Can ur heart just got up that quick out of nowhere

Hello :-)

Maybe you had the bath water to hot and as you got up that caused it , it has happened to me before

Hope the valium works and you get a good nights sleep , I think it will be just one of those things that sometimes happens , frightening when it does but then goes away :-)

Take Care x

You have absolutely nothing to apologize for. That is why there are groups like this, to post what is going on! Believe it or not, a hot bath can do that!

I’m glad you are feeling better now. It can be scary but you’re okay,... it happens. Practice taking long deep breaths not only when you feel panic coming on but whenever, it will make you calmer. I panic at doctors offices and I feel they give me grief when blood pressure is taken and is too high or maybe I’m feeling embarrassed for it maybe they are just concerned.

Thanks everyone for all your replies! Means a lot .. I just can’t get out my head I’m dying before I even go into a panic my mouth goes like pins and needles and then wen my heart races I try calm down but it just beats faster it’s crazy it goes up to 200bpm I nearly passed out earlier it’s such a scary feeling I just can’t live like this anymore. I’m on sertraline have been for years .. my fear is death so I constantly think I’m dying x

Sorry you're going through this. Have you ever been tested for POTS? I know that when my blood pressure drops my heartrate goes crazy high and I went to doctor and they diagnosed me with that. I avoid hot tubs because they tend to have that effect on me.

What is POTS?xx

POTS stands for postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. It has a whole list of symptoms also associated with having a faster than normal heartbeat. I've been struggling since 2017 with figuring out why I sometimes would get these really fast heart rates and I would be doing nothing. Was checked out by so many doctors and now I am seeing a neurologist about possibly having this syndrome.

Iv had a cardiology appointment 2017 they said my heart was ok apparently just so scared I’ll go into cardiac arrest

So sorry you are scared of this. I also still feel like my heart will just stop when I get these "attacks". It goes as high as 190 and stays for about 20 minutes. It's the scariest feeling so I sympathize with you and I wish you nothing but the best !!!

Yeah mine has been as high as 200bpm and it makes me panic more then I feel like I’m going to pass out and the back of my throat really feels weird like pins and needles can’t ever really explain it. It’s so strange. I just hope I won’t die 💔😭.. surely my cardiology would of picked that up if I haD POTS in 2017 x. I hope ur ok. How do u cope with ur heart rate when it goes that high?x

Sometimes putting my legs up against the wall and laying flat help but other times I'm basically just freaking out. Still trying to get a good grip when those happen. Also deep breathing in for 4 seconds and out for 8 seconds also helps. My doctor also told me to bear down like when we go poop and that can work. Another thing she mentioned was pressing on my eyes like in the eye socket. I haven't had the chance to do that one. What do you when it goes that high?

I take propranolol we everyday to keep my heart from racing. Worked well for me since I had it regulated for me. Are you taking propranolol? Just a thot.
