So basically I phoned my GP up today explained about my chest pain in the middle of my chest in the left side, it comes like tight and can be severe at time’s like where I have to basically rush somewhere with panic, I said near my heart and on my ribs I have tender pain points which she said sounds like costocondroritis, and also explained about my heartburn and gas which is another trigger she said, she said it can take 4 to 6 weeks for a Holter monitor so I’m reassured abit there it’s kind of scary but she also added it’s been like this for 14 days if it was that serious, it’s very rare for me to be getting better

Chest pain in middle of chest and reasurrance???
Hi anxietymadman, I am glad you spoke with your doctor today. Now it's a matter
of trusting her judgment. I have had both costochronditis as well as heartburn and gas.
The costo comes with irritated nerve ending between the chest wall ribs. You can tell
by the pain it causes when pressing lightly down the center of the chest between the
ribs. The heartburn and gas is another issue that can be located in the center of the
chest which for me, causes a pressure sensation.
The best thing we can do is not focus on it as a heart problem. Follow your doctor's
suggestion and advice as in what to do. Try to relax and the symphtoms may go away.
You did the right thing today in calling your doctor. xx
There the experts after all I don’t think for one second if they thought it was infact heart related they would let me off with it or they would want to see me straight away, she seemed really confident about it
You are correct. The doctors do not take chest pain lightly. By knowing their
patients and the patient calling them, that is what they need in addressing the issue.
Their education and years spent addressing patients concerns gives them an insight
into the symptoms one expresses.
I care as well. I thought about you during the evening knowing that by telling you
to call your doctor, I may have given you more anxiety. But it was the right thing
to do. Your health and safety is number one. You did the right thing. You are in your
doctor's hands. Trust in her. Try to relax now and do some deep breathing.
Feel better xx
