Weight loss and anxiety

Hi, so for 8 months or so I have had a fear of chocking on food and my food intake has dropped drastically. I was on mirtazipine and they swapped it to sertraline 6 weeks ago and this has knocked my appetite even more. The doctor now wants to do a camera down the throat as I also have acid in my throat.. this is my worse fear in the world. I’ve lost nearly 2 stone since the start of sertraline but before starting mirtazipine I was 8 stone and I got to 11stone so since coming off it I’m trying to put my mind at ease saying to myself it’s just my body going back to normal pre-mirtazipine weight. I’m so scared I’ve got stomach cancer or something. Atm I’m dealing with 3 kids, isolation, health anxiety, OCD, EUPD, panic disorder and a boyfriend that I’m so scared is going to leave me and this surely is stressful? And would affect anyone’s appetite. Sorry for long post .

Good Morning. I too have had acid reflux for several years and got the camera down the throat due to that feeling of a lump in the throat. The procedure wasn't bad at all. My GP ended up giving me prilosec for several months which helped alot and the lump feeling went away. Other things that can help with reflux are avoiding things like alcohol, chocolate, and certain acidic foods for example. And you don't have stomach cancer. SertraIine has a tendency to affect weight in both directions for up to several months. For anxiety, I know first hand how anxiety can affect our bodys and give us negative thoughts, health anxiety, feeling bad, its no fun at all. I've dealt with it my whole life. But recently, I learned negative thoughts can be controlled (with alot of practice at first), and my symptoms became more manageable over time. I'm still working through it, but its becoming easier the more i practice relaxation techniques. I know its hard with kids, been there, but you can get through this and live the life you dream about, seriously! This video helped me get started with some techniques, and there some other meditation ones that I think are are very helpful. Its funny but sometimes just a deep breath can help while releasing body and mind tension and feeling stress melt. Maybe start with practicing 1 minute a day and work up from there. For positivity and motivation, I like this video: youtube.com/watch?v=T-l22hh.... And for isolation, its definitely hard right now to socialize. Just know that your definitely not alone!! Many many many others have dealt with what your feeling and going through, and have beat it all and live a fine life, as will you!
