Yes. The only way to stop this is by learning to cope with your anxiety and maybe getting medical help such as meds and therapy.

Well maybe try it when things are back to normal.

Try having lung disease like others on here me included. Now that is scary, especially in the current climate!

Have you had the breathing with anxiety

It’s very normal with anxiety. Your breathing to fast and shallow , hyperventilating.

Just do your breathing exercises in through your nose deep to the count of 4 hold it in for the count of 2 and exhale slowly through your mouth. Do this for 5-10 min your feel good. Do this multiple time a day to get your breathing back on track.

Sometimes if you it doesn’t feel normal or hard to do lay on your stomach and do it.

Do you have to do thus for a while to get your breathing back cause I only do it once a day is that not enough

That’s not enough , you should take several times a day and do this until you feel your shortness of breath is gone.

What happens if it doesn’t work the breathing exercises

Well I would try it with a positive attitude and not go into it thinking of failure. It may take a few weeks before you realize it’s worked.

I don’t know your medical history and if I did I’m not a DR. That said I’m sure you’ve already got the all clear that everything is ok. Anxiety will cause countless symptoms and this is a major symptom that anxiety is responsible for. It won’t hurt you to try it for a few weeks.

Yeah I’ve got my heart lungs and oxygen checked and everything was fine

Those test are what will definitely rule out the serious conditions. And as you know you have anxiety disorder. So with knowing your physically in good condition anxiety is the cause.

One thing you haven’t mentioned is this. Have you been tested for allergies. If not allergies could be a course. If I were in your shoes try Benadryl for a few days to see if it helps.

I'm having a very hard time breathing right now. I have hyperthyroidism and I'm on meds. My anxiety is very high and I'm very afraid. Im so sad because I believe in god and I try to rely on my faith but I'm still afraid. 😭

Hypertension is from breathing to fast to much carbon dioxide. Deep breathing through your nose to the count of 5 hold your breath for 2 seconds then exhale with pursed lips to the count of 6-7. Repeat for 5 min or longer until you feel that breathing get back to normal. Also try laying on your stomach slow breathing for 10-15 min for future events

Ok I will try it. Thank you.

It can last as long as you fight or fear it. When you no longer fear it, it goes away.
