Heart palps, shortness of breath, high heart rate?

I had a baby two months ago, and just stopped breastfeeding so my milk is almost dried up, started the process about a week ago. So I know a hormone change comes with that and my hormones are leveling out still.

But I’ve had anxiety for years now and since my daughters birth (symptoms have come and gone) I’ve had heart palps and shortness of breath and when I’m anxious I’ve seen my HR go up to 180 before on my Apple Watch. That Ofcourse freaks me out more bit it never lasts from what I can tell it’s just a quick episode of it. Does anyone else have these symptoms with anxiety? Any tips?

Hello, Congrats with your new Baby. All your symptoms expriencing is all anxiety. You have an over active nervous system, adrenal glands that's triggering your anxiety, plus your internal thinking. You can do calm diaphragm belly breathing, meditation, mindfulness tips outside in nature, listen relaxing calm music, gratitude affirmations daily. Alot of us subconsciously condition ourselves to get to this point with anxiety. Now we have to relearn to get ourselves out of this. Please stay away from all anti anxiety, depression meds its not good for you, on the brain and body, stay healthy for your family.

Thank you so much this helped a lot. I am doing a little better every day. It just scared me as it seems to come out of nowhere sometimes so I start to think something is wrong with my heart or something. I definitely stay away from all meds, always have! ❤️

In the past, I too was obsessing that it was my heart. Constant shortness of breath, heart Palpitations, tightness in chest, throat, stomach, dizziness, weak, nausea. So i convinced my regular doctor to send me too a cardiologist. He said it was anxiety. But I thought other wise and still wanted clear my mind. I did all the tests, treadmill, ultrasound, heart monitor for 2 weeks, blood work, chest xray, all fine. And lot of $$ spent.

For me, I have to mange it with coping skills which can be very effective, it lessens it so life can be good again. Yes it can go away. There's gonna be times symptoms will come and go. Just accept it, don't add any second fears, and it will be OK.

I’ve been dealing with it for years but never had the shortness of breath last so long and come on so randomly, usually it’s only during a panic attack. This comes and goes throughout the day, whenever I start to think about it. But pregnancy was so hard for me and the birth was traumatic as she had to be taken to the NICU, stayed there 5 days, etc. so it must have thrown my anxiety into overdrive and it’s just taking super long to heal??

It will take time for your body heal. Stress and anxiety comes from build up of emotions that get stored in our brain and body, then our body reacts with physical symptoms. That's all and it's a normal thing that's why alot of everyone on this planet is going through this. Find natural ways to calm your nervous system daily.

Yes, some good advice above & I agree sounds as though adrenal related. Have you had a saliva test to see what your levels are? Could be your cortisol is elevated in which case have you considered trying a herbal supplement to help calm the stress response now that you’ve finished feeding? On the other hand, long time past, by I experienced similar to your symptoms when I had adrenal exhaustion, so could be worth having a test to see what your levels are. And breathing into paper bag worked well for me to calm things down a bit. Congratulations on new babe 🤗
