I have been getting fast heart rate for many years, my heart rate would go really high just by little movement, like if I go up and down the stairs my heart rate jumps to 158 and simply just walking around it’s 120-130. I had echo, ecg, and holter monitor and everything came out normal. My Cardi prescribed me beta blockers, but I don’t like taking them, but it dose reduce my heart rate. He says it’s anxiety, but I never got one answer to my question about, will my constant high heart with movement make my heart weak and cause complications In the future? That is my worst fear and cause of my anxiety because I’m afraid my heart would become weak with my high pulse. I’m only 18, and i feel like I’m stuck in dark box where I can’t get out.😞

Heart anxiety

Hey I was reading this and it sounds like you have cardiophobia,I’m In the same boat with rapid heart rate over little movement ,you’ve had tests and they have came back normal so you need to realise it’s your mind making your heart go rapid ,cardio phobia and anxiety are hard to deal with trust me I would say take your beta blockers they do really help and also see a psychiatrist maybe , do you get breathless and dizzy at all ?
Well i do have asthma, so I get breathless from that, but since starting beta blockers I get lightheaded when standing up.
Yeh I didn’t like taking my beta blockers either tbh but I’m gonna have to get more from my cardiologist as they do help,I have asthma 2 and getting breathless is normal with asthma yeh you need to get used to the beta blockers you will get a range of symptoms from them until your body is use to them 😊.
You need to realise the heart is a strong muscle and can take a lot before and until anything happens,I wouldn’t say a high pulse all the time will damage your heart at all just feel this is a really hard type of health anxiety or cardiophobia I’m exactly the same as you don’t believe any doctors and think tests are wrong etc ,hope all of us suffering from this can beat it 😊
Thank you so much for your kind words. It helps to see that I’m not alone.
