Can’t stop worrying about E. coli

i ate several salads with romaine lettuce last week because I thought the recall was over and stores are stocking the salads again but now I see articles that say it’s back. My tummy has been a little upset today and I feel under the weather, so now I’m terrified I’m going to get sick. Although my period is due in a couple of days so it could just be that. Any reassurance would be welcome. I try not to ask for that too often but E. coli is a big fear of mine...

news stories can be a problem. i would not try and seek out any news articles as you are sure to find something that will cause anxiety. we are constantly told that such and such food is bad , don't eat, then several months later another study is saying there is no problem eating it.

i recently had 'food anxiety', my partner had cut raw chicken on the chopping board and left it by the sink. i didn't know this. it looked clean and i prepare some food on it and ate it! she then told me about the chicken. it set my anxiety off no end, that i was going to get sick. i didn't

i would say as long as you are being sensible with food you are not at any great risk. it will just be bad luck if you ever do catch anything but the chances are always very low.

stay away from the news when you can. i do check news sites, we need to be informed of what's going on around us. however i now have a rule, i do not read or watch any news at weekends or days off. i need the rest from it, especially with a worrying brain like mine
