Hi all: I have af, and last couple days I've... - Anxiety Support
Hi all
Is your heart rate irregular?
Heart rate does go up with anxiety.
There's a cardiac website here
British heart forum or foundation not sure what it's called.
Buzz on that and present your question.
Sounds like a medical question for your md. I would call the doctor.
Yes I do have AF as well juggsy75. It is a weird sensation for sure.
Anxiety can provoke it. I've been on medication for it. Once the beats
were back under control, the anxiety lowered as well. Are you on anything
for it?
No, I've had an ablation to sort it out
juggsy, your question really needs to be given to your cardiologist.
I was given cardio version which didn't work and that's why medication
was given.
As for Ablation, there is that small percentage that doesn't take effect
for them. As long as you are under stress and have the irregular beats,
the anxiety will be there. Your doctor knows your health history and can
suggest what needs to be done in alleviating the issue.
Unfortunately, we both know there is no cure for AFib, but it can be controlled
through different avenues. My best to you juggsy.
Hi Juggsy75, I don't know anything about AFib, but I can say from experience that my anxiety causes my neck and shoulders to be really tense and sore. This leads to me becoming more anxious and causes numbness in my arms and tightness in my chest. I've had to go to the ER twice because I thought something was seriously wrong with me. The doctors ran tests, X-rays, CT scans and a MRI and found nothing. Again, I don't know anything about AFib, but your shoulder pain and tightness in the chest sounds anxiety related to me. Best of luck.
