I recently started therapy (trying methods other than medication before trying medication) for my anxiety. My therapist mentioned next time she wanted to try to create a timeline for when the anxiety kicked in/panic attacks started. So I am thinking through, but had two thoughts I hoped some of you could weigh in on!
1- Does it really matter if it was some event that kicked off the anxiety? I keep going back to the fall I mentioned in a previous post. It just scared me and I wonder if that was the cause...if not, do I HAVE to identify the cause to work on recovery?
2-I have been on depo for 2.5 years and I really wonder if that is somehow a contributor. I am 41, my mother went through menopause in her 40's...If I am starting to go through the process and taking a drug that essentially already mimics a menopausal state, is it possible that my anxiety is on the rise due to hormonal issues?
I know we aren't doctors (we just like to play one on WebMD...:)), but thoughts from anyone who may have similar experiences with Depo or menopause, would be appreciated!
