Right when I'm about to fall asleep at night it feels like my heart stops and my body goes numb...I'm not sure what this is but obviously I woke up today so I'm happy for that..
Anxiety comes with so many symptoms, but I dont know if this could be one...
I have to say that is one. I had the same. Took me a while to realize that I have never paid so much attention on going to sleep. Especially the brim sleep.
Its anxiety mix with insomnia thos would happened to me every night so i would stay awake all through the night till morning its very scary feeling but its all anxiety and lack of sleep!
Damn this feeling is scary honestly it's like my immune system shuts off and my body goes numb cant even feel my heart beat like it just stops, so I would shake myself out of it then try to sleep again, then again it happens until I finally just got to tired and fell asleep...
Hi trust me if your heart was going to stop your brain would automatically wake you up as it's a built in safety feature. Our bodies are very efficient machines!
What you experiencing is normal as on the verge of sleep our breathing slows and we get the feeling of weightlessness so just go with it. x
I have the same issue. Sometimes I’ll spring up really quickly and freak out for a second and then I’ll scare myself into not falling asleep till late hours, and then it effects with my anxiety more because of lack of sleep.
It helps me to learn about the heart and how it functions and what it does in certain situations, it was scary at first because anything I hear or see about the heart I use to freak out. Your heart 100% did not stop, unfortunately we won’t know what that actually feels like unless it actually happens but if your heart stopped I’m sure you would just know, that there would be no questioning it ❤️

I'm sure it didnt either or else I probrally wouldn't be here today, but the feelings were real though... it's like my body stopped functioning inside , like everything just stopped moving around and couldnt feel my heart pumping....that's just what it felt like

yes I know all to well that what you felt was real but the answer is that it was either that jump that happens when your half asleep or healthy anxiety ( our bodies do weird things when we’re on edge) or even both! But the first thing you should do is not associate this feeling with “my heart stopped”. Try to come up with the more logical reason why it happened, associating “my heart stopped and body stopped functioning” with what happened will only make you more scared of it happening again 🎀.
My health anxiety surrounding my heart was pretty bad last year, and it’s not fun 🥺 One becoming more comfortable with the thought of death or how I’m going to die, or illnesses
I’ve felt like I was sinking into a black hole, my heart felt like it skipped beats and I’d jolt out of my half sleepiness and assumed I was going to have some sort of heart attack or something, it sucked and I hated it. Convinced my heart stopped I went to the doctor and he asked me how many times it happened and I told him and he said “ if your heart stopped 3 times and your still here then you are a walking miracle”. I laughed it off as well ( even though I know healthy anxiety isn’t really anything to laugh about” but as I started thinking more logically I noticed I could challenge and take on my anxiety a lot better, bottom line is you are ok now even though you may be on edge, but what happened will not hurt you in anyway and has happened to many many people, even at this moment someone has felt what you went through and they are and will be ok ❤️ Omg the symptoms to health anxiety is endless!!! Man I’ve had numbness, brain fog, feeling like I’m in a dream, felt like I was having stroked everyday, cold, hot, heart pain, chest pain, etc just know the symptoms to a sensitive nervous system is endless and you are not alone.
