I have been using writing to jot down thoughts that get to me to the most when it comes to anxiety but I've never used it to deal with intrusive thoughts that plagued my life nearly every minute that I have to perform a ritual to relax and let it slide. Of course I'm not saying write every single intrusive thought down but would writing about it make me feel better and help me deal with it? I always get triggered by words like "death", "die" or "end" and if I end a sentence with either of these words, I feel like I will die. I know it sounds silly but its what I've been dealing with for a few years in my life now. Would writing help that out and help me recover? Thanks

Would writing help deal with intrusive thoughts/anxiety?
Hey
CBT is the key and it’s all about writing things down and then under each one challenging it ie write down what evidence there is to suggest it’s true ? Challenging helps in writing
It could probably be effective. I would give it a try for sure. I journal too. Haven't done so in a while, but I have the same plights as you.
I think it would help ! Being a writer myself, I have written positive & negative things in a journal. For thoughts such as those, I’d write them down, then burn them. It no longer serves you, thinking this way...release those negative thoughts . Just a method I do, but in your case, yes at least wrote them down & get them out of your mind.
Hi Marc0133,
Definitely, get it out of your mind, write it down🖒
OCD, PTSD, Anxiety, PEs & Depression have plagued me since 5 years of age, 45 years on I'm still documenting/logging.
The easy thing over the years is technology where I now type/dictate into my iPad pro or my fone which is much easier & quicker.
Releasing all the negative thoughts/behaviours & impulses.
