So I've been to see an ophthalmologist on Friday and he diagnosed me with keratoconus (it's a progressive eye disease where the cornea bulge forming a cone like shape and this cone like shape deflects light as it enters on it's way to the retina)
There's a surgical treatment the Corneal Collagen crosslinking
I am so scared about this
Is there anyone who got this eye disease? And has done the crosslinking?

hey! I actually have this eye disease. I got crosslinking and Intacs in both my eyes. Crosslinkning isn't bad, it strengthens your cornea. It can be kinda scary because you won't be put under. There's this contraption that holds your eyelids open and that part is uncomfortable but they will be numbing you during the crosslinking process its pretty fast and pain-free. It can be painful later in the day or the day after. I hope I helped you a bit!
So I guess you have photophobia???? After the Cross liking did it ease? (When I'm in bright light everything feels unreal and my whole body feels different) ever happened to u?
I’m not diagnosed but i do have light sensitivity sometimes. There are days where it’s really bad and days where it’s okay. Yeah, i know the feeling you’re talking about it feels weird. I can’t say if it eased because i also got the intacs in.
Hi! How did you manage the pain after the cross linking procedure? My partner has had it in both eyes this morning and I am really triggering with trying to help him cope with the pain! Is there anything that you could reccomend?
