Finding anxiety hard to handle

Finding this so hard. Coming to end of 5th week on 100mg sertraline after being on 25mg for 2 weeks 50mg for 4 weeks after I finally stop paroxetine after 20 years on 21st July. The anxiety and panic is worse than paroxetine not working as it goes on all day. This time last week I went to A and E because it was that bad. Doctor put me on propranolol on Tuesday don’t really know if it is helping Spent all day reminding my self that before last Sunday I had had 11 out of 18 reasonable days but nothing since last Sunday. Can’t wait to have another reasonable day supposed to try and go back to work tomorrow as a secondary school teacher but don’t think that is going to be possible. I know I don’t level out until the 12th week but each day I am wishing for the day to end some I am nearer I need to get on with my life and be able to sleep more than a couple of hours a night. Thank you for reading I just needed the rant just wish the doctors understood

You have ben struggling for some time it makes me think this SSRI drug is not doing you any good yet they say you have to stay on it for so many weeks and of course they say you have to increase the dose - at some point if you don't improve will sertraline be judged as a failure in your case ?

Surely you should be getting more sleep I really hope you get sorted as the way it is now something is wrong

Hi I totally understand, I to was on paroxetine for 20 years for OCD but had a breakdown early this year, doc has now put me on to sertraline, this is my third week at 50 mg but feel worse than ever , I was told it could take 6 weeks to fully get the benifit, also had visits to AE because I have been finding it hard to cope . and doctors are not always sympathetic , but there must be light at the end of the tunnel, sending you positive thoughts ,

This post is 10 mths ago, hope u have past the withdrawal. I am on 25mg, just started, Now reading this got me scare, Will i get this when time for me to stop? I wonder should i take this paroxetine, which is the same type of drug as sertraline
