It's my forth day of medication with Lexapro. I still have not been able to sleep as well as I would want to. Still I have been feeling a bit better untill today. My biggest issue has been the feeling of unbalanced. For the past couple of days it has not been that bad. Today I feel it fully coming back. I feel my eyes shakey, which I think is contributing to the feeling of unbalanced. During the day I have a hard time adjusting my eyes from bright to dark. So I'm constantly blinking or squinting. I don't know if it's the feeling of unbalanced causing it or vice- versa. The main reason why I started taking the medication was to not feel this way and the fact that I'm feeling it right now is irritating. I know it's still early to tell whether the medication is working, but I still feel annoyed. Since taking the medication I have also been very shakey. My hands and legs feel like they are trembling, but it doesn't bother me as much as the same old feeling of unbalanced. I feel I'm going to panic. The feeling of being unbalanced has been there for four years, since my anxiety. I don't know why I am just starting to panic now.

Hey,

I'm sorry to hear you gave anxiety. It always makes you panic. Hands and legs trembling are normal - well for me anyway.

From what I’ve read sometimes your symptoms will feel worse as the medication starts. It can take around 4-6 weeks for your brain/body to get used to the meds. What dose were you taking again?

I am only taking 5mgs. I hope the symptoms are not that bad if that's the case because I don't know if I can take it

I wonder if you could drop down to half that for a week or so, then go back up to 5mgs. To slowly, slowly introduce it, I think that’s what I’m going to do. I’ve been prescribed 10mgs but to take 5 for the 1st week but I think I’ll start with 2.5 then go up gradually?

I have a doctor's appt tomorrow. I don't want to take medication for it. I am barely taking the medication I was supposed to take a year ago because I am scared of medication.

If it continues, maybe go back to dr and get it reviewed . Hang in there

Lexapro was awful for me a few weeks ago. I’m only just feeling slightly better after talking that and diazepam

Hi..I could completely relate your feelings with mine.. I have started Lexapro-5mg, 3 months back.. for me...initial 15 days are really hell... no sleep...no appetite...always feeling dizzy...and tingling of left hand and leg. All the symptoms slowly gone ..It took me 6 weeks to get into 60% improvement. After initial 5mg dose for 4 weeks my Dr. put me on 10 mg. Things are comparatively good now..

So...my suggestion is ...Keep the hope high and stick to it...good days are ahead...

Best Wishes
