Not taking my medication anymore

So for the past week I stopped taking my medication, again. It has not been too bad, until now. I feel like my eyes are tired and my legs get tensed up because I feel a bit unbalanced. This is exactly how my anxiety works. I mostly feel very unbalanced and get shaky. I feel the need to shake so I can tell my body is me that's moving around and not let the feeling of unbalance take over, if that makes sense. I decided to just take my medication today. I realized I only had one more pill. I called to get a refill but turns out my doctor is no longer in that office so I guess I have a new doctor that has to see me before I get another refill. I got an appointment until April. The fact that I won't have medication terrifies me and I was beginning to panic this morning. Last August my doctor prescribed my medication but since I was too after to take it I never took any so I still have that. It says to use before August of 2019 but I think I'm just going to take those until I see my new doctor. I will call the doctor's office tomorrow and ask if they have a cancellation list so i can perhaps be seem sooner. I am scared I will return to the old me that was afraid to do anything because the feeling of unbalanced never let me do anything. Just when I was beginning to get my life straighten out I begin to feel this intense feeling again. I hope I am just exaggerating, but I just have a feeling that this is going to take a while to fix again.

Hi..what anxiety you really have? Right now am in same situation. I did once had a hearbeat of 210bpm n was admitted.after resetting my heart three times they had me on xanax (as i was stress n afraid) n metropolol (to regulate my heart beat) n i was monitored..later all test heart related was done and blood test..all came ok..i did echo for my heart too..as per my cardiologue it was an electrical imbalance in the heart and the nurses all said it was benign

Since may 2019 am on metpure xl 25.. 1 per day..after 3 months my cardiologue see me and i told him am still hving smtimes palpitations and then he again give me the medication for 6months and he told me its nthg heart related and i fear for nothing and he also said he is prescribing me this as if he is treating my headache..

Well my issue is same as you.am so afraid to stop taking it..but i can do without it..but the "if" i get it again pops up n triggered my anxiet..since december 2019 the medication are almost out of stock n i was like panicking..my chance everytime i get my dose..

This March i have the appointment n i know that the cardiologue will stop my medication since i feel good (idk if its the medication or its me as i worked a lot on myself through prayer.affirmation.stay positive)

So take it from me..do the effort hy urself n see..

I am thankful I haven't been admitted. I don't know what I will do if I am in that situation. K have also tried to stay positive and leaned on my faith a lot. When I got bad,I was thankful to have my mom help me with prayers and was very supportive. The longest I tried to stay away from my medication was two weeks and I stated to get my anxiety back. I quickly freak out so I just go back into taking it. I am scared to see what would happen if I completely stop taking my medication. I really hope everything goes well with you and that you will be able to get back on your feet without your medication. I hope that your yearning period, if you have one, goes well! Thank you for you response.

Hats off to your mom as prayers are the best..keep the faith..god always here for us..you did not say what anxiety you are suffering righy now? ..also anti depressant is mlnot good as ithas side effect in the long run..i got a friend who is so addict that she wont sleep without the medication and she is like having symptoms of alzheimer (sorry to write it like this..just want to help nit to get addict to it) also her nerves are loosing their competency..it dnt function as it should..also these type of person when the medication dnt help, the doctor just increase and increase and increase the dose until they feel better..finally you know the consequences..i pray for myself n i add you n everyone in this situation..god bless

Hi,

Unbalanced feeling is a classic anxiety symptom. I have had, well still get it sometimes and it is really scary I know that.

Have a look at anxiety. com

They have an extensive list of symptoms that may be of help to you and put your mind at rest a bit while you wait for your medication. But as you say get on that cancellation list, or just tel the receptionist you have run out of your medication, they shouldn't make you suffer like this for a month.

Best wishes

Thanks! I just started browsing there. Unfortunately the feeling of out of balance is what I get everyday. It prevents me from doing a lot of things. When I started taking me medication it helped me a lot. But I have a feeling that even with it I won't be ok anymore. Still I was able to get in the cancellation list. I told the receptionist about my medication and she seemed understanding but the doctor is only there for three hours every day so it's hard to get a sooner day. I am just hoping for the best.

Aren't you supposed to gradually get off meds like that?

Well before I finished taking my last dose, I started taking them less often so I first started by skipping a day and then skipping two and then took it three times a week and then I stopped. I started not feeling well, once again. I took my last pill and now I don't have any. So it's been hard. Especially since I don't have the option to take them again.

Ok I see. Well hope you get through this. I know you will. Our mind tries to convince us otherwise
