CBT

I have been going to CBT therapy for the last 7 weeks and I've struggled so much with it I feel I'm not getting anything out of it I get a timesheet every week I have to fill in every two hours of hat I do each day it's been driving me mad and making my anxiety worse the person I see is not very talkative and I find it had to have a repore with her today with the help of my partner I've opened up to her to say how I feel and to be honest it was like talking to a robot no interaction or empathy even my partner made a comment of her lack of interaction so I've given it up and back to square one I feel so let down and questioning myself ! Has anyone else had a experience like this with CBT therapy ?

I'm so sorry to hear about your experience it sounds awful

I had a bad time a few years ago I had a dreadful lady and I had to give up Then this year I tried again and I had the most loveliest lady and I feel so much better

I went via Talk Plus and this lovely lady said last time I could have complained and be swapped to someone else

I really hope so much you can try again as I definitely feel better for it

Good luck

Hi. I had CBT a couple of years ago,but didn’t have all the sessions as I found it didn’t work for me at all.I was told that if I wanted to talk about my anxiety and problems, then I needed counselling.I had counselling and had a lovely lady that listened and supported me.I think you have to find the right therapy for you.

I’m sorry that happened to you.

I’ve had cbt a few times now and I guess I’ve been lucky in that I have had good therapists.

I feel it’s important to get a therapist you can talk to. Usually there is an option to request a change of therapist as you don’t feel it’s working (I guess there may be a wait for this to happen). They usually say at the start of therapy. It’s a shame to have had to stop completely ..like in everything there are therapists we can work well with and others we don’t...

Could you speak to them (maybe whoever organises it)and say you felt you just didn’t get anything out of it and feel maybe a different therapist could help,.

Best wishes x
