So tomorrow I have my first session of CBT for my health anxiety and GAD. Today I had a huge argument with my partener which really shook me up but I'm hoping this CBT will help me so things can improve so I won't be arguing with my lovely fiancé anymore

I feel you and I will be praying for you. I've lost so much weight dealing with my anxiety, stress and depression. My husband may leave me, my mom just passed away and I'm up to the limit. I will keep you in my prayers still.
Panickier, I'm happy that you will be starting your CBT tomorrow. I wish you well with your session. Just be aware that it takes some work to get the benefits out of the sessions, but well worth the results. xx

Good luck today with your CBT
It will help if you want it to but it is not a quick fix but hopefully slowly but surely taking on board what they suggest will help you to build your life up
Keep an open mind as well as be honest with them so they know what they are working with , I know sometimes we can hold back thinking they will think I am mad if I tell them this or they will think I am a nasty person if I tell them this bit but believe me they won't , anything you say they will have heard before and more

Lika Agora1 and Hidden said it is not a quick fix, but it worked for me.
It is also something that you have to do constantly and work on it every day.
I think belief in yourself that you can do it and belief in your therapist is very important.
You can DO it!
My daughter is currently in CBT therapy. She has been doing this therapy since February and there has been some good changes in just 3 months. Hang in there and keep doing the therapy I do believe it works, just takes some time. I found a good book that may help as well called: 7 weeks to emotional wellness by Joan Matthews Larson.. It is a good read with lots of great information.
