Where I live you need to be over 18 to attend the doctors on your own, I am only 17 and I want to go to the doctors to find out if I’m suffering from an anxiety disorder, but I can’t even imagine asking my parents to book me an appointment, it’s impossible even the thought of it makes me sweaty and hot. But I feel if I don’t go my anxieties will only get worse. Why can I do?

How do I tell my parents I think suffering from an anxiety disorder
Hi have you rung the surgery and checked the situation for minors? From what I have seen online minors aged 16 and 17 can generally see their doctors without their parents being involved virtually everywhere. The criteria is if they are considered mature enough to ask for treatment and understand it's implications. x
Oh Ellie I'm a mum and if I thought one of my children had an anxiety disorder I would be there with them to see a doctor and support them all the way It's nothing to feel ashamed of it's a very real illness
You mustn't suffer in silence anymore If you don't think that your parents will be supportive or understand then please speak to someone at school You can and will be helped
What are your fears of telling your parents ?
Please please do it today or ring a helpline No Panic etc Have a look online
Good luck sending huge hugs 🤗
