So, I went on vacation and had a mild sinus infection, it is now healing and I’m back at work. I was curious ...do you guys find it sometimes challenging to see whether what you are going through is either due to sinuses or anxiety? Haha.. Im having trouble discerning between both things here or do they overlap..?
For example, on my walk to and from the restaurant to pick up my lunch ...I was feeling as if I was drunk and that I was slightly walking in quicksand. I didn’t throw a fit because all this chamomile tea has me chill really. But , the anxious mind still wants to find a way to trick me huh? Anywho...
Anyone else deal with sinuses but find it challenging on whether they feel how they due because of something mental or their sinuses are actually bothering them. It made me chuckle because also , without my sinuses bothering me, sometimes as I panic , it’s as if I’m drunk walking sometimes.
I haven’t really gotten myself into a panic since drinking chamomile tea more, though, which is great because I’m taking the reins on certain situations and being more calm and assertive the cowering away like I always do , or getting shy. This tea allows me to be calm and I let my natural, quiet confidence out . 🤔
Well... thought it was funny but wondered did anyone feel that way 👀?

I completely get it! I have had terrible sinuses for years and years! I feel like I am staggering about and I can never tell if it’s my sinuses or if it’s my anxiety, it’s so crazy. I have had it pretty bad over the past few days and I’ve struggled to find the line between panic and sinus pain. You are totally not alone in this! X
Yes, so glad to know lol . It made me laugh a bit but after some chamomile tea , I’ve been able to see what was what lately lol. Whew , my nerves have calmed down so much ..it sucks I was THAT anxious so often.
Still have to see about how to be calm through PMS though . :/ calm tea helps but sometimes anxiety tries to creep on my shoulder and bother me 🤦🏽♀️
Chamomile tea is a god send! That coupled with rescue remedy is the ultimate combo! I am glad you are feeling better about things, I am having a bit of a rough patch but I’ll get through it! I nicknamed my anxiety frank so I know when to tell him to buggar off lol 😂😂
This last spring was terriable for pollen. I was having severe sinus issues but thought it was just my anxiety. My husband kept telling me to take benadryl but im scared of meds (my irrational fear) so i wouldnt and id just cry and mope about. I drove him nuts all spring. I made him take me to urgent care 5 times and they kept saying the same thing. It was just my sinuses. I think the worst part about anxiety is it can mimic other health issues and cause us to go crazy wondering if something is really wrong or if its just anxiety. Then worrying that it really is something wrong....... ugh
Yes, anxiety plays tricks on us all if we let it. Found a new therapist and want to share with her my thoughts. Wanna calm my mind more often . It’ll be much easier to tell what’s bothering me: sinuses or anxiety trying to creep up and have me panic .
It’ll also be useful so I’m not waiting on my butt to get meds for my sinuses. Because sometimes I don’t always get stuffy nose or the “sniffles” my ears will get stuffy and I’ll get woozy or ill get this de realization feeling —-the whole time it could be mucus in my sinuses having a ball...and that’s why I feel drunk lol so I don’t panic
I recently went to see a neuromuscular dentist., to try and help me with my jaw clenching tmj.
He explained to me how clenching and grinding can cause neck, shoulder and upper back pain, that can cause an unbalanced feeling. He also said that it can cause sneezing and rhinitis, as the clenching aggravates the sinuses that run along the cheek bones. He also said that it may contribute to hair falling as tight muscles constrict the amount of blood flow to the head. And also causes tinnitus.
It was amazing what he told me, but when I think about it, it all makes sense, and I have all of those symptoms.
The answer not so easy as in a lot of cases, as in mine, clenching has become an unconscious habit, day and night, my teeth actually hurt sometimes, my cheeks ache too and sometimes I will get a headache, and yes unfortunately eating can set it off.
I have in the past worn a mouth guard to no avail, tried something called cerezen that go in your ears (Google it) expensive and didn't work for me.
Anyhow the dentist has told me to use my mouth guard during the day, an in and an hour out, vto try and retrain the muscles that clench and get misaligned, and of course to break the habit.
Wish me luck, as I've suffered with thus for a long long time.
Yes! It most certainly does. Thank you for sharing that & updating me Faerie . That makes sense because when i was grinding my teeth often , I’d get “stuffy” ears often and neck and back aches. Calming tea often, has helped to kick the habit for a while. I tend to get an urge to grind the teeth but only around PMS :/ lol.
I’m so glad you’re getting valid opinions and methods to assist in kicking your grinding habit as well!!
That’s crazy about the hair :/ I’ve been pretty experimental with my hair and have shaved the sides of my hair off but I’ve been wanting it to grow back for a while and put all the hair growth oils in there. But, wow, that habit has probably held me back a bit 😞.
I wish you all the luck. You’re already on that healing path by talking with the dentist . If you have any other tips or maybe vids , definitely share !
Sorry bout the typo's, it should have read... Mouth guard in for one hour, then out for an hour.
I don't know about you, but sometimes if it gets really bad my anxiety is through the roof, I feel jittery, bit sick and definitely unbalanced.
I saw a guy called Luke Smith, it's the second visit for me. He works in Spalding or King's Lynn. Don't know if you are in the UK.
I have just got to do what I'm told now.
It's crazy cos I find myself clenching when I'm cooking, drying my hair or sometimes just watching TV, and in the mornings I can wake up with my teeth hurting and gave random fits of sneezing and running nose.
