I took Celexa and I was okay. If you're meaning did it work for me and make things better, I can't say it did in my experience. That said, the good thing is what works medicinally varies from person to person. I think it's worth a shot if you are attempting to find a solution to your anxiety. I don't remember having a bad experience with the medication other than just inconvenient side effects (weight gain, men's issues/libido), so I discontinued. Otherwise, I didn't feel like it made things worse. There are absolutely some Celexa success stories on here, so I'm hopeful someone else can tell you it did indeed help them. Again, it varies, so if Celexa doesn't work for you, trying another in the same class might work better for you. Best of luck and I hope Celexa is able to help you
I take Citalopram and have done for several years. I also take Lithium for I have bipolar 1. I am very well mentally on both and although I cannot say if citalopram is good, it did lift my mood when I was getting depressed. It is worth a try. I have tried so many in the past. Lithium holds me but the Psych Dr just felt the citalopram would help my then , low mood, Good luck x
I have been on Citalopram for many years and it’s the only thing that helped me with depression, panic attacks and agoraphobia. Before, I had tried numerous meds feeling like a guinea pig for years with numerous side effects. The side effects of Celexa for me have included vivid not so pleasant dreams. But I figured I could deal with that in order to finally find something that worked.
I've used 10mgs for two years now. I've tried upping the dose per doctors request, but heart palpitations always started, so I stick with 10.
It's an ok antidepressant. I wish I could tell you it's always rainbow and butterflies, sadly it isnt. Maybe someday they'll come out with such a pill. Wouldn't that be nice?
