No sleep again 😩

Two nights of sleep but broken sleep not constant, feeling weak all day yesterday, then last night awake til 5ish body jolted me awake at 7am 😢 now totally exhausted and nausea set in. Finding it very difficult with the lack of sleep, can’t bear the day ahead. alone, with zero energy, going to have to stay in bed most of the morning if only to see if I can get a couple more hours. Symptoms are all bad enough, but not sleeping is weakening me even more 😔

Hi

So sorry to hear how weak and tired you are feeling. Are you taking the zopiclone or are you feeling it may have caused you problems when you did. I think it is very unlikely to have caused an increase in anxiety but you could talk that through with your doctor if you are worried.

It is so hard managing without sleep so I really feel for you. That was one symptom I was lucky enough not to suffer from at all once I started antidepressants because my doc gave me zoplicone to take along side it and I was very careful never to increase the dose. Used it for a few months only then normal sleep returned OK. Lack of sleep had been horrendous before that. Did you suffer from insomnia before you became ill with anxiety?

I was however still feeling loads of unpleasant symptoms such as nausea etc at the stage you are at and like you felt very miserable about it all. It must be so hard when you live on your own as well.

Hang on in there, you will start to feel better in time.

My very best wishes.

Kim

Doctor gave me Circadin which is melatonin I believe, because Id been taking the Zopiclone but one night it didn’t work, and I was in a state. Last two nights I haven’t needed to take it. But then it’s not actually a Sleeping pill, I’m confused as to whether to take a Zopiclone tonight now? I’ve never had sleep problems before, and i know it sounds stupid but I’m really worrying about it, then I feel myself getting worked up because I’m still awake hours later. I feel so much better and able to function more if I’ve had a proper nights sleep, I don’t know what to do 😔

Hi

Really sorry to hear that. Hard to know what you should do. There could be no harm in trying to take zoplicone again as long as you try not to get upset if it does not work.

I have remembered something else I used to take as well as zoplicone and the doc said it is fine if I take the two at the same time. Chemists will say they do not advise it but my doctor was clear it would not cause problems. That is the over the counter antihistamine called Nytol. I think you are UK based are you? If not it will probably have another name but the key ingredient is antihistamine. I tended to try a full dose of that first then if it did not work I took the zoplicone. So most of the time I took the two together. I was assuming it was the zoplicone that was working for me but perhaps the two together helped and stopped me ever having to increase the dose of zoplicone

Chemists get funny about antihistamine as it can also be addictive so I always went to my chemist that was linked to my GP and they were fine and never asked any questions.

Anyway, good luck with it if you decide to try that also. I have no idea if you can put Circadin with any of those so you would need to talk to your GP about it if you are planning to take that also.

I agree it is so difficult to cope if you cannot get a good nights sleep.

Best wishes.

Yes I’m in the uk, can’t take nytol because of other medication I’m on, will have to check with doctor, thank you for your kind words Kim. I’m trying to just rest and relax a bit at the moment instead of worrying myself into a state because of it

Try taking some magnesium, it relaxes your muscles and really helps you sleep. It worked for me. Although it is natural, check against the drugs you are taking though as some strange things react together. X
