LANIBEN, I have been going on for months this time, sometimes a couple weeks now I don't know when I slept a night it's 3:05 am And Yes I'm wide awake
Yes, I have chronic insomnia. Had an allnighter last night. Hoping I get some sleep tonight 😔 Just started taking a new AD which apparently aids in sleep so hope it works.
Yes I do as well. Usually when something is stressing me out- it’s usually something I can’t control either so I am just not sure why I do it.
The ocean wave music has helped me. The clock seems to go by way too fast at night.
I know. The days seems very long with no sleep yet the night goes so quick ☹️
How has your day been?
Hi
Firstly don not apologise we are all here with the same frustrating issuses and worry this is what this place is for to write it down and share.
Av been having trouble sleeping recently as well I seem tired all day get to bed time wide awake lucky if am getting a few hrs a night and even when I am asleep I am awear of everything around me if that makes sense? I was told it's my medication and should pass in a few weeks.
I hope you get back to a good sleeping pattern soon.
Thank you so much for your kind words
Hi Laniben
SLEEP ROUTINE TO HELP OVERCOME INSOMNIA.
So sorry to hear what a difficult time you are having with insomnia. Sorry to bore you if you are already aware of this but incase you are not, as well as using zopiclone, I found that it is really important to get into a good sleep routine. For example, however tired you are do not sleep during the day.
Go to bed at a reasonable time after something to relax you such as a hot bath etc. Try not to look at screens at all for an hour before bedtime unless it is to read a Kindle or watch a relaxing TV program, and avoid anything stimulating such as talking on the phone to someone etc.
Try to get into the right frame of mind to relax, possibly do a meditation or use a meditation sound recording.
Make sure you have a very dark room and as quiet as possible, if this is best for not being woken for you, and try to ensure you are not disturbed after you have fallen asleep. I used to wait before taking zoplicone until after my husband had come to bed because I am a very light sleeper and he tends to come to bed later than me and would wake me even though he was very quiet and never put the light on etc.
I then took my half tablet of 7.5 of zoplicone (making this dose 3.75), after he had come to bed, if I had not fallen asleep already, which usually I hadn't.
I found that I would nearly always go to sleep with the half tablet if zoplicone because I was very tired and followed the routine each night but sometimes I would wake after a few hours so would then take the other half tablet making it up to a full dose of 7.5 mg. If I woke again which was very rare, I would not take any more but at least I would have had about 5 hours sleep and would make sure I did not nap in the day however tired.
The next night I would generally sleep after following the routine, only needing the half tablet of zoplicone to get me through the night.
I followed this routine for around 3 months, tapering off towards the end, then did not need any medication at all but I still follow the routine without use of drugs, so it does not slide again.
I just have half a tablet of zopiclone now a few times a year if I have jet lag etc.
If you feel able to follow the routine as well as use the medication I think it is likely you will do well with overcoming insomnia.
I really hope you are able to as it is so miserable to suffer as you have done and I did for around a month before starting the very careful use of zoplicone.
As long as you stick to a maximum of one 7.5 mg tablet a night and cut back as soon as you can, you should not be able to become addicted. The worse that will happen is they will cease to work for you and you will still have insomnia. If they cease to work for you, do not increase the dose, just see your doctor for other help as addiction to them is very, very unpleasant and difficult to resolve from what I have read.
My very best wishes, I will be thinking of you and everyone else suffering from this problem.
Kim
Thank you Kkimm, none of that was boring, i do go to bed at a good time, i might read something on
The kindle it depends, i have quite a few different meditations on my ipad. I usually wear ear plugs for any outside noise. Last night was the first timei took the 7.5 tablet, i slept from 10ish til 6, went to the loo and back to aleep until 7.30 Did a morning meditation. I got up and dressed, had breakfast and fed my tortoise, but the effects are still there at the moment so ive had to sit down on the chair. I might just take half, if i need it, tonight. This was the first time ive taken that higher one. No i dont sleep in the day no matter how tired i am. But yesterday i wore myaelf out so much stressing because of the night before that didnt help either. Thank you the advice i really apreciate it 😊
don’t be sorry! although i can’t really give you advice for this problem i hope you’ll find something helpful ♡ i’m able to fall asleep but my problem is sometimes staying asleep, i’ll wake up in the middle of the night and won’t be able to sleep again for over an hour or more
