anxious when i don't have palpitations

Gosh, after having palps 24/7 but then they randomnly stop for awhile, I feel anxious?

I'm lying in bed right now and it just feels so weird that I can't feel my heart beating in my chest that I'm actually scared.

I'm continuously checking my pulse on my neck and wrist to make sure my heart is actually beating 😓😓

No palps are good, try to relax, you’re alive. I get the same but you’re breathing, you can move, this means you’re heart is beating ❤️ Hope you feel better soon

Hi borahae, it's not uncommon for the anxious person to feel anxiety when the

symptoms stop. Our over sensitized nervous system and our over active mind tend

to get use to scary, fearful symptoms so that when they stop, we are confused and

left with "what ifs". Instead of embracing the respite, we go into another fear that

something is wrong. As long as these thoughts are in our mind, the adrenaline levels

stay high in our system. Maybe not high enough to produce heart palps but high

enough to feel fear.

Our body knows how to take care of us. It's giving you a little break. You are

definitely alive and well. Breathe borahae, Breathe. I do understand xx

Hi,

what type of palps you were getting? Did you get them at night? Last night I woke up feeling that my heart was beating very fast for less than a minute and then stoped. It scares me a lot. I get so anxious that it makes more palps and it seems that they will never leave me alone.

Ahhh vicious circle.....

my palps were constant 24/7. I was always aware and can feel my heart beating in my chest. Whether or not it was fast or slow. Doctor's said it was anxiety (had ecgs and holter monitor).

hope you're doing okay. I heard magnesium helps with palps. I've been taking Nexium for my indigestion, it also contains magnesium, so I think it may have contributed to decreasing the palps.
