Im starting effexor and I feel terrible. I feel like I'm dying. I'm having a panic attack and cannot sleep because I'm positive if I sleep I will die. I'm dizzy and my face is hot and I have a sense of impending doom. I also keep waking up confused and even getting confused when I'm already awake. I really don't want to stop this med because I knoe side-effects can be brutal at first and I've had some success with it before and I just REALLY want to feel better in any way I can.

Feel like I may die
Hi did you have side effects last time you took this medication ? If the answer was YES ? Then just keep saying to yourself I had these side effects before and they did get better.i was tried on citalopram side effects horrendous so Dr changed to sertraline side effects still horrendous.the Dr then told me to stop them . neither of them suited me . but that was just me.alot of people have side effects and they pass.and they have helped millions of people ,but some times they just don't agree with everyone.give it a bit of time and if no better see your doctor and tell him your concerns.hope it all settles down for you soon .
I’m with you sweetheart, trying to get some sleep and being scared of death at the same time😭 I’ve been there and it’s one of the worst feelings I’d never wish on anyone.Try to free your mind and relax your mind before bed, some herbal sleepy tea also helps! I pray you overcome it anytime soon🙏🏾
Hey. I've been on Effexor for about 5 years now. When i first started, i was told to take it at night. Welp it made it impossible to sleep, and i felt like immortal shit. So i called the dr and she told me to switch it to in the mornings, and i swear it was like a whole different drug (in a good way).
This medication saved my life.
Don't give up on it, it takes a good month to feel a difference.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Remember I reached out to you about this issue and your post from ages ago comforted me. It's not real this feeling, you will be ok.
