There are many possibilities at to what this could be: asthma and so on. You had it looked at it and blood tested, so it's highly unlikely you have lung cancer. Reading or "Googling" your thoughts is usually a pitfall. If you think or believe something so intensely, I can guarantee you'll find an article on the internet that supports your fears. It's awful when you get stuck in that worried cycle and one of the worst things you can do is Google it.

What to do...well non-smoker or not, lung cancer can happen regardless. It's just people who smoke have much better odds. Do you keep watch for ozone days where the air outside can be unhealthy? How is the air quality around where you live? And I don't want to scare you, but here's a question I want you to approach rationally...if you have lung cancer, do you think you'll perish today? Does your family have history of lung cancer? There are so many questions. That said, if you had lung cancer, you would have a terrible cough, not so much issues with getting air down. This sounds like hypervenitlation from being anxious about a thought. If your oxygen saturation was 90 (95 preferred) or better, your lungs are providing your body with enough oxygen. You would feel weak, tired, and in all odds bed-ridden if your oxygen dipped.

Another thought...have you had any physical chest trauma? You may have bruised a muscle or bone, making it more difficult and painful getting air down. Regardless if you have it or not, you'll need to calm down, relax and approach this on a day by day...test by test manner. Freaking out is just going to make your thoughts on this worse...especially when you're as young as you are...I just highly doubt lung cancer. Try to be kind to yourself, find a comfortable position that allows adequate breathing, and relax. I would follow up with your doctor to test for asthma. One of the cheapest, best devices you can easily find is a peak-flow meter. This, usually used for asthmatics, tests for a good flow outward. Good flow + good oxygen saturation means your lungs are doing the job. There are many things this could be, but don't believe the lung cancer stuff until someone says you have it. Breathing plays a huge part in anxiety...in both causing it and calming down from it. I have a feeling once you "wrangle" in the horse that is your anxiety, you'll be a in a much better spot. If it becomes very painful to breathe, any parts (usually lips or cheeks) become blue, have trouble talking, or you simply cannot move any oxygen in or out whatsoever, get help immediately. Again, best wishes and I hope this helps rather than seeing all the "it's cancer" stuff out there. I know it can be difficult to process, but I really think you'll be okay :)

You bet, yeah, I have a feeling at worst, maybe some steroids and/or an inhaler if it's uncomfortable. Worst case, you can try some breathing therapy such as deep breathing techniques. They have tons on YouTube and many on phones via app that will guide you through breathing in and out while focusing less on the anxiety and purely on the breath. Wishing you the best...I have asthma, so I know that feeling can be very uncomfortable.

This has happened to me in the past and still happens to me. A lot of people in my family and many of my friends have this happen to them. It’s normal and usually yawning and taking a big big breath in helps. I got an inhaler tho and it helped me breathe alottttt better. Definitely would recommend an inhaler but yawing and taking deep breaths help.
