Hi Anxiety77, I have been going through the same feeling lately, though I am not on any meds, you really just have to work hard at training your mind to think positive, also reading and interacting with people on here always relaxes my anxiety.

Hang in there we are all here for you

Supplements are not the answer, that is how addiction can set in during these low points in life, just know that no matter what you are not going to die and you are going to get through this, you have to see the light at the end of the tunnel, i constantly worry if I will be a good son if people will be dissapointed in me but you have to realize that you are your own person and they will love you no matter what

Hi Anxiety77,

This is a fantastic place to come and learn, lean on others, and offer support and encouragement to others on this journey. I'm glad you posted!

There is more than hope. Recovery is available to everyone. It is not an easy journey at all, but it is a journey that brings a lot of self-awareness and understanding of things we never knew before.

You may like the resources I have on my profile. Dr. Claire Weekes in particular was a brilliant doctor who understood anxiety like no other. The other resources I have there are supportive of her approach for recovery, which is tried and true. Learning about anxiety (psycho-neuroeducation) combined with components of CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and perhaps some other kinds of therapy depending upon your particular situation, are recovery-promoting in so many people. Meds (SSRI's and SNRI's, sometimes the older or atypical classes of antidepressents) seem to really help nudge some people.

There are many recovery stories here on the site, and many folks with fantastic pearls of wisdom. and of course, lots and lots of support. I'm glad that you are reaching out! Please keep us posted. Wishing you all the best~

Try dealing with what is making you anxious. If it's people, let go of their judgments. You can't please everybody. If it's friends, sometimes you have to let them go. Don't let anyone set standards for your life. You value your life and how you live it. If it's your job, do the best you can always, regardless of what people say or do. Know the difference in what you can control and what you can't. God bless you. I hope you can get well without meds. I have had anxiety for many years which lead to depersonalization/derealization which is absolutely terrible. However, it has lessened after I put the counsel therapy I got into practice believing the bible as my source of living and God as my security. Hope this helps.

I'm sorry the meds you were taking stopped working and others don't seem to be helping. Has your doctor suggested the GeneSight test? It can help to see what meds and doses may better work for you.

In the meantime are you also seeing a counselor? Having someone to talk your anxieties out with can help so maybe check into that - and of course post away here too. It sounds like you do have some good coping skills - including crying! That helps release emotions and does help make us (me at least!) feel better so don't apologize for crying! Like steadfast said too, see if you can figure out what it is that's making you anxious because knowing what it is can help sometimes so you can change what it is about it that's making you anxious or avoid it entirely.

Hang in there and keep using those coping skills -- things will start to get better.

Hi, I write to encourage you as you have received so many good responses to your post. You WILL find the right medicine, stay strong! Anxiety medication is almost like a hair dresser...you have to try a few before you find the right one that works well for YOU. It will happen and you will feel better. Counseling is a great suggestion as medicine alone does not work well. You want to be empowered and have the tools to help you get through the tough moments or tough days. Allow trusted family and friends to help you when things are feeling hard. It is good to move, whether it be walking or dancing in your living room. It helps you to connect with an energy you can lose sight of. Do not lose hope because there is an answer....and that answer will come....it can take longer than we choose, but the answer will come for you. I wish you well.
