Made the decision to join the Y, in spite of my fear...they have a pool and gym..whirlpool. I am totally afraid. My having MVP with regurgitation, my iniatially being told the ekg at the doctors office showed a small heart attack..but little evidence after an echo and nuclear stress test and holter monitor...to support the initial conclusion..holter showed one episode of Atrial Tachycardia..and one episode of Eptopic skipped beat...in 30 days..I am really scared. Could use some support and or feedback..thanks in advance..My anxiety is trying to make me very apprehensive..of what bad things could happen..with exercise. Hate Anxiety.

As long as your doctor has cleared you to exercise, then just start slowly. I had a fear of having a heart attack during exercise and when I started walked I had a few panic attacks, now I’m waking 2 miles a day. Even if you have a panic attack keep going back
Hi Autumn822, I too have MVP with mild regurgitation at times of the Tricuspid Valve.
At one time, I had skipped beats and A-Tach but by the suggestion of my cardiologist,
I was told that water exercise would be a safe and effective way to exercise. I was very
afraid as you are. When I first got into the pool, I walked in the water very slowly afraid
to over tax my heart. I had signed up for 2 days a week. Long story short...I went from
2 to 4 days, then 4 to 6 days a week. 30 years later, I don't know what MVP is anymore. All
symptoms disappeared. Exercise proved to be the key to feeling better both mentally
and physically.
Always....get your doctor's approval before starting any exercise. Good Luck and have fun xx
