I found you guys by googling my new BP med. Last three years on Clonodine and it was a Godsend for anxiety but doesn't seem to be helping BP anymore. Doc added Metoprolol today. Any advice how to proceed? I think he's trying to wean me off Clonodine but I need it for anxiety. I'm sitting here freaking out, just took first dose of that Metoprolol. Oh, he tossed in one pill a day of Klonopin but I don't want to get my body addicted to those.

Julzjulz, Please give the Metoprolol a little time to work. I've been on it several years
now and it seems to be a good drug for me. Since I am more prone to morning anxiety,
my doctor switched the time I take my medication to evenings. It helps with anxiety as
well. I wish you well on it. Maybe you can use some other method in reducing stress.
I use Meditation and Deep Breathing in place of a benzo. xx
Ah, thank you! Clonodine has been my save. It's a calming feeling. Was such a unbelievable help. I wonder if I can just keep taking both. I'm glad to hear the Metoprolol does indeed help with anxiety! Do you have BP issues too?
