I have been having a lot of head problems lately and I want to know if anyone else has had the same or similar symptoms.
At first, it started as a really awful headache on the left side of my head where it burned down the left side of my hair part, I went to Urgent Care and they told me it was do to anxiety, to which they prescribed to me Fluoxetine, I only took it for a week before quitting. Then I went to another Urgent Care and told them the same thing, and mentioned my symptoms and they said it was anxiety, they prescribed to me Paroxetine, which i took for a few days but quit because it gave me blurred vision. I then went back to the Fluoxetine because I didn't want to waste time on another trip somewhere. And SURPRISINGLY I had to quit taking it again because it gave my head a crawling feeling. I then went to the ER and they gave me headache medication that took the pain away, but the pressure was still there.
I then had pressure that would be on the back of my head, left side, and then at the top.
I now get a very deep crawling/slithering sensation that is a very awful feeling and it feels like hot liquid is in my head and last for only a short time, but is extremely uncomfortable and bothersome. For this feeling I decided to give a doctor's visit another go. When I went to my family doctor, she mainly focused on my anxiety problem and the fact that I'm suicidal when I really just want these awful head problems to go away. After she blamed my anxiety, she gave me a prescription for Amitriptyline, saying my nerves are the reason alongside anxiety.
When the crawling comes, I can feel it at the back of my throat and my left side nostril. Could the liquid be an ear problem or a sinus thing? Could the Amitriptyline be the cause of this feeling? Has anyone else had this?

Hi - do you have neck pain too ? Sounds silly but stress and tension (and bad posture) can cause funny head aches and neck ache, maybe worth trying a massage too if not already ? Wish you well
I actually don't have neck pain alongside this. I give myself massages on my neck and have other people massage my back, but that only takes away the pressure in my head for a very small amount of time, like 5 minutes, if that. Thank you!
I'm still tempted to think this is tension related. I didn't have neck pain very often, but I'd get weird shooting pains through my jaw and nose, weird sensations in my forehead that really freaked me out, the spot between my eyes would feel extremely swollen even though it wasn't... When my tension and stress started to go away so did all these other things. Don't underestimate the power of the mind coupled with the sensitivity of nerves. It's potent shit.
It sounds like a Cerebral Spinal Fluid LEAK ....I belong to a FB group for this...and everyone with CSF leak have the very same symptoms you are decribing including me....so please look into this......
Yeah I've complained about this wierd feeling in my head before to my family but no one understands it. Not surprising most of the things I go through with anxiety and depression they don't understand either because they've never experienced it. They are always there for me but they don't really understand it or know what will help. I'm thinking of telling my doctors. I'm suggesting to you to tell a different doctor. I hope we can both get help for our illnesses. <3
I had this crawling sensation through the left side of my scalp for months. It was like when your hair on your arm stands on end but much more pronounced. It started as a small area and ended up being most of the left side and started creeping to the right side.
I also had a few other symptoms like fuzzy hands and feet on occasions and an odd pricking sensation in the same areas. Extreme tiredness and I’d be exhausted just walking up the stairs.
I saw 5 doctors over 5 months who all kept telling me that it was anxiety and prescribed a couple of different antidepressants (which I refused to take). I kept telling them that it wasn’t anxiety as I’ve had that long enough to know.
Finally one doctor ordered comprehensive blood tests and it turned out that I was anaemic and also had very low ferritin levels. I started taking iron tablets and all my symptoms went.
I’m not saying yours is the same but that’s what caused my crawling sensation. Also, don’t take iron without having bloods checked as too much can be just as bad as too little.
Yes, I get this feeling down one side of my head/face. It comes on when I am feeling bad with anxiety. I. Had it last night for some time, i must admit it scares me but I tell myself it's just another symptom of anxiety doing its worst to frighten me. Remember you are not alone with this. It helps me to know this.
I'm sorry you go through this as well. The feeling is awful and really impacts daily life. I hope that something will help you cope, or get rid of, these symptoms.
I'm sorry you are going through this. My wife is going through something similar, I am taking her to a neurologist in a couple of day. Symptoms include pressure in the head, hot liquid feeling, sensitivity to noise and sound, depression, Bone pain, always tired, weakness.
She got covid a couple years ago, she got better, then had an episode where a someone close to her passed away and she got worst after that. She was then prescribed an antibiotic to kill a bacteria in her stomach (H. Pylori) which then sent her to the emergency room. She got worst after that. After many doctor visits we took matters into our own hands and started seeing specialist, paying cash for the visits (cardialogist, Reumotologist, and now going to see a Neurologist). We are going to request an MRI of the Brain and check for blood clots, tumor in the brain and Multiple sclerosis. I read and article that said multiple sclerosis can come about from a virus. The virus attacks you, your immune system responds and then your immune system may continue to attack the nerve endings of your nerves and this makes it hard for your nerves to communicate well with your brain. So we are considering this as well. Please let me know if you got a diagnosis and what is the outcome. Hope you are well.
P.S. same as you they are saying it is anxiety but there is definitely something deeper that is being missed. My wife is not an anxious person and very strong. Something is definitely wrong
