Very strange feeling but for over a week now I’ve had an odd pressure type of feeling on a small spot left side of my head. It’s not painful but just a bit uncomfortable - almost feels like where I’ve had my hair up for a while and then let it down (but I haven’t). Some days I don’t feel it very much at all, others (like today) it’s there constantly. I’m sure I’m not imagining it but am known at my GP surgery for health anxiety so suspect they’ll just write it off straight away! Bit worried it could be a sign of a serious problem... can anyone relate??

Pressure on side of head
Hello
I get that
I also get when I have had my glasses on the top of my head reaching to take them of as I feel they are still on there
I think it is tension however just because we may have Health Anxiety does not give the Doctors a reason not to check us over and dismiss us so if you feel like you want it checked out let them know if that is what will help
Take Care x
Thank you for your reply. I’m worried it’s an aneurism or cyst or something but there’s no pain at all... it almost feels as if something is pressing against my skull from inside or as if someone is pulling my hair in just one tiny spot... very odd and annoying but not painful. It comes and goes although today has been pretty constant so taking reassurance in the fact it goes away every now and then as a good thing. I’ll call the doctors but know they’re only doing phone appointments due to covid and I’m sure they’ll say it’s nothing anyway.
Hello
I know exactly where you are coming from I am in a state over something in my stomach and have a Doctor paying me a visit tomorrow
I am one of these HA suffers that freak out not knowing what it is but equally freak out at the thought the Doctor will say there is something wrong
I am in such a mess now I am going to get a visit I could throw up
I have had what you are feeling and I think it is tension but if you get to speak to the Doctor and they think for one minute something was wrong the would see you but I doubt they will need to , I am sure that is what it is and hope they reassure you
Let us know how you get on x
Do you think you could get tension in just one exact same spot for a couple of weeks... coming and going but always in the same spot?
Good luck tomorrow. Hopefully the doctor can reassure you... it’s always better to know and get it checked than not no matter how silly it might seem to people who don’t suffer with HA.
Yes you can and I have many times , I would get it in my temple an awful lot exact same place every time
Thank you I hope she does not find anything to much wrong , I hope I can sleep with the fear tonight x
hi geo26
I have had that pain on my head quite a few times feels achy or slightly bruised but not..
I know what you mean with our drs giving us the brush off when us with health anxiety turn up i changed my drs once when I walked in once and he said" now what you dying of" I was humiliated to the core what was a joke to him was a serious issue to me ..but if your unsure ring your drs at least get yourself looked at and rule anything out even if its to put your mind at all the best
Nat
Thank you for your reply. It’s so frustrating that I’m never really listened to although hopefully that’s genuinely because there’s never anything serious wrong! I’m worried it’s an aneurism or cyst or something but there’s no pain at all and I’ve read that aneurisms cause excruciating pain... it almost feels as if something is pressing against my skull from inside or as if someone is pulling my hair in just one tiny spot... very odd and annoying but not painful. It comes and goes although today has been pretty constant so taking reassurance in the fact it goes away every now and then as a good thing. I really don’t know what it is but as doc appointments are over the phone at the moment AND I’m always worrying about something I doubt they’ll take me seriously.
