how to calm anxiety when playing co-op

i have really bad social anxiety but i also like to play fps games. i like to play in pub so i can really enjoy the game fully and build skill but playing with other living, breathing humans makes me very nervous, so much so that i don't tend to join voice chat in those games. i don't need voice chat and my goal isn't to join it to be honest but i'd like to not be hyperventilating, gasping for air, and trying to calm my heart all while trying to stall the point on overtime which is already stressful enough. does anyone know what to do about this? right now i'm trying exposure therapy to get more used to playing with other people. my friend is willing to play alongside me when she can which i think will help but i do want to be able to play on my own as well.
