How do you deal with this?

My anxiety has amped up big time this week. I've had a couple of restless nights sleeping, I've got the jelly arms and legs and random tingling in face, arms, legs, shoulders but not at same time. Also off and on chilled. The one really getting me is the depersonalization...that feeling where you're here physically but feel detached from reality. That is such a scary feeling to project a normal front when you feel in a fog. Anybody else get this and how to you cope with it?

Hi I’m feeling the same have done for majority of the year, just coming of sertraline now as they aren’t helping me. My worst symptom is eye pressure and weird vision constantly! It’s hard to carry on as normal but have to as I’ve got a 5 year old!

I haven't had the identical symptoms you describe, as anxiety targets different areas of people's bodies when under unbearable stress. Fear is usually at the core of the problem, and the way I cope with anything out of my control is to talk about it with loved ones who understand me the most. I have my support people in place for when these incidents take me by surprise, the latest one involving fear of having a brain tumor. I had not been feeling well, suffering from headaches, and feared the doctors would give me a bad report.

Prior to that, a couple months ago, I had severe chest pains from stress and for the first time in my life, I thought I might die.

But the good news is that there is a way to cope with these debilitating feelings. Taking care of your body is paramount; eating nutrient dense foods that prompt the production of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine to help diminish the onslaught of negativity.

If you have a background history of succumbing to fear, and this pattern has remained predominant in your life, it could have something to do with how your brain stores these memories and repeats the patterns it has known your whole life. Reversing this requires therapy.

But overall, some people internalize their stress differently than others, depending on how they are wired together. I would encourage you to get your support people in place for when those moments arise and you need immediate conversation as a release for when the emotional upheavals that want to overtake you. There is so much more I could say on this huge topic, but I think the key is to find out what you are afraid of the most and address that particular issue. I hope and pray some of this helps!

I have had the tingling in the legs and feet. This is new for me. If I dont think about it.. it goes away but if I an anxious they feel tingly and strange. I also get some eye twitches sometimes. The one thing I have learned about anxiety is that it wants your attention.
