So i use to come on here alot. 2016 was my "dark year" on here. 2016 febuary my heart went into an arrythmia and at the time i wasnt even sure what it was. I didnt want to leave my bed or do anything at all. I was so scared to even walk around and do anything. Took over a year for them to catch that it was atrial tachycardia, but by the time they realized it, damge was kinda done. My relationship, the one person in my corner left me for "Another guy that doesn't have these issues" then now my doctor that had my back and was always in my corner and could make me smile left for tampa florida Veterans hospital, and to make it even worse and add insult to injury, the bad year stuff is returning. I dont this shit sorry for the language but im so so sick of the cycle. People i use to watch on youtube for support have even passed away, peeweetoms and claire who had a lung transplant but passed from a stroke, im really falling back down after i fought so hard to get up here. Fuck.

Hi Armyguy,

I'm so sorry you have gone through this and everything you describe. Are you in therapy?

You talk about damage from the SVT. What damage was done from the Atrial Tachycardia? Do you mean that it sparked the worry and fear you have now? What treatment(s) did you receive and are things stable now?

A setback is tough and can be thought of as discouraging, but I like to think of setbacks as a friend. You might want to kick me for that right now! :) But I think you already know that this is true. Setbacks can help us re-learn what we've already learned and make it even more deeply inscribed in our minds. When difficult things happen to us in life (loss, change), there is mourning, grief, and so many difficult emotions of course. And this is natural. So painful- but normal and natural. It doesn't mean that you are going down a deep, dark hole again. You have so much knowledge and courage that you are forgetting about right now. You will be able to draw from your past experiences and go through this difficult period, emerging on the other side with peace and joy again. And maybe with new friends, a new love interest, a new, awesome doc perhaps, and new lessons learned. But again, you already know this.

If you are in therapy, is it at the VA? And can you ask for more? I like intensive therapy when the going gets tough. You've endured a lot of change and loss recently, and extra help can be key. The VA doesn't get the credit it deserves for all that it offers IMO. Yes, it's a difficult system to navigate but if you know how to work the system, the opportunities to get help are there.

I think you got this. I think you have more resilience and strength and courage than you realize. I don't mean that you should be bouncing out of bed and skipping down the street right now- that is not where you are at. I mean that you know how to get through this difficult time and see the opportunities that all this change is going to bring you. I hope that you post here as much as you need to. So many wonderful folks with words of encouragement and wisdom. Then when things are feeling better for you, you can be the one to post those words of encouragement :)

Do check out the resources I like so much! On my profile. They are a path to recovery and a path for getting through setbacks for so many...

Praying for u hoping u feel better soon and please don’t beat yourself up, be kind to yourself and do self care. If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are livilng in the present." Nothing comes to you without putting in the work, Be willing to be uncomfortable. Be comfortable being uncomfortable. It may get tough, but it's a small price to pay for living a dream. True success is achieved by stretching oneself, learning to feel comfortable being uncomfortable. Here are the reasons why you should prove to yourself that you're ... In fact, the more you doubt your mental strength, the more important it is to prove that you're stronger than you know.

Hi Armyguy,

It is really hard when someone has a condition like yours and I am sorry that you have lost many of your sources of support. Support is a major source of help and strength for people in difficult situations. Have you ever considered reaching out to your army buddies especially those who have strong faith? Please don’t look down on this advice but I have seen many people helped by a strong faith in that it gave them something extra such as hope and unexplainable ability to endure. And maybe you can get help from a nearby church for practical help. There are a lot of churches today that have volunteers who really go out of their way to help.

I watched both of them wow ! It really is sad but peeweetom had a rare cancer and Claire had a stroke because I think her new lungs didn’t do well with her body plus she had CF. Don’t let your mind get to you. I’m struggling myself with physical symptoms I get every single day man. Some days I just wanna throw in the towel. But I keep fighting. Death is inevitable but it’s how we make our life on this earth determines how we live and our purpose on here.
