So I was taking a antidepressant called Cymbalta (highly do not recommend) I never experienced panic attacks the way I did taking that drugšÆ It put me in a huge fog. Iāve been off it for two weeks now and In the proses lost my boyfriend and my job do to the extreme social anxiety, mood swings, and just feeling like I was going crazy.
The day after I broke up with my boyfriend I smoked a little marijuana (from the dispensary) it sent me into the worse panic attack I have ever felt! I was shaking, paranoid, and my heart would not stop beating so fast. The had to shock me back into rhythm which was very scary for me.
My anxiety since then has not changed. I wake up sweating and with a heart rate of like 150bpm super frightening. I go on with getting ready for work and am so tired, dizzy, lightheaded and all around in a painful fog. My heart will randomly start racing cause somethings super small sets it off. It hasnāt been what it should be for a week now. Doesnāt get under 90bpm laying, sitting, sleeping... never
I wrote all this but there is so much more involved. I feel like Iām a ticking clock either my heart is going to blow up or my mind. I need some advice?? Like anything. Also if u have ever experienced these symptoms it would be so helpful if u could share them and what did and didnāt help. If u got to the end Thank u. Support would be so nice. Iām kinda very alone in all this so ways to get thru it would be so nice!

Hello I can tell by your message your anxiety is really bad.its reassuring the hospital has told you its anxiety.why don't you see your doctor and see if they can give you something for your anxiety ? I take diazepam 2 mg as and when needed.as I live on my own and have to work to pay my bills etc.so I explained to my doctor how I was feeling and he said to take diazepam as required when anxiety is really bad.and if anxiety is bad every day I must take 1 xtablet 3 times a day for 5 days as this will calm down the whole nervous system and calm you down.believe me these tablets are brilliant they calm down heart rate relax you,and make you feel calm and relaxed.but you must only take when you are really bad as they can become addicitive .having said that I've been taking them as required for years and never had any problems.hope you can get the help you need.keep in touch
Thank u! I will look into that. They gave me Xanax which does help but knocks me out every time so I only use it at night. The fact that medicine can calm down heart rate makes it sound even better cause thatās the main issue is how my anxiety is now effecting my heart/heart rate š£
Yes it does calm your heart rate and makes you feel relaxed went to hospital few years ago and had ECG and Dr there said heart rate is very fast and I told him I take diazepam and he said its your anxiety making it go fast.go home and have a cuppa and take the diazepam and it will calm the heart rate and me down and it did.it does work maybe see if your doctor will put you on a short course and if it calms your heart rate you will feel more relaxed knowing its just anxiety causing it to go fast. Good luck and don't worry I've had anxiety most of my life off and on and I'm now 63 .
I have also been placed on diazepam for panic like this and that and Xanax were the only things that really helped when it got that bad. I think my resting heart rate was at 121 when they proscribed xanax temporarily (since Iām a young person there are addiction concerns) so I donāt know how accessible the latter really is, but for sure there are medications out there that can interrupt the panic cycle. So can you, with practice, but it often takes a lot of help to get into a mindset where you can work on that practice well. You are cared for. Iām so sorry this is happening to you. Youāll get through it.
Hi there, I had my first panic/anxiety attack after smoking a joint. It was so bad I ended up in casualty because my heart rate was so fast. Following a bout of depression, I was prescribed amiltriptiline, which brought on severe panic attacks. I would wake a few ours after taking it feeling like something dreadful was about to happen then my heart would begin to beat at a really fast rate for around half an hour before calming down, I used to think I was about to die, it was so scary. I have a back problem, I've been prescribed pregabalin, apparently it can be prescribed for anxiety disorders, maybe you should ask your gp it might be suitable for you, I don't feel anxious at all when I take this medication
I am so sorry you are going through this! Anxiety is a very difficult thing to deal with. I experience panic attacks myself and they are very scary. Have you thought about seeking professional help like a doctor or a therapist to help you with what you are going through? They may be able to help you figure out what triggers your anxiety and ways to overcome it. I hope everything gets better!
