Panic Attacks with Gerd

Hi! I am 62 years old and was put on fozomax for bone density. After 7 weeks of taking the medication I developed a lump in my throat and gas. Went off the drug but my blood work showed high cholesterol. I had a calcium test and my score was high. Fortunately my nuclear stress test is normal. Wearing a monitor to check for heart rhythm. Today was a great day. But this evening about 2 hours after dinner the lump was there and then came those racy feelings of a panic attack. This is so frightening. I’m worried about my heart but so far the big test was normal. Nighttime I seem to feel worse and more panicked. I’m in 20mg anaprozole but I’m wondering if 40 mg of nexium would be better. These panic attacks are soooo scary. Any suggestions?

Have you tried Prilosec? Or are you able to take some Tums with what you are currently taking? I would just keep reminding yourself that GERD can also give you the lump in the throat sensation. I tend to get more anxious at night as well. I invested in a weighted blanket and will sit with that on me if I am feeling particularly anxsty, or I’ll get up and work on something around the house until I am more calm.
