Hi chloelouisexxx, well at least you have a diagnosis now. Tea can be a very soothing and calming drink but it depends what kind of tea you were drinking. Some caffeinated tea such as Green Tea can have a significant amount of caffeine.

I have anxiety and I’m a tea pot ! I love tea. I can say I don’t think it triggers my anxiety. I am no tea expert but I find a cuppa soothing and calming for me.
I also found out that Lemon balm tea work amazing for anxiety. Have a read up on Lemon Balm. See what you think of the reviews. Hope you find some peace. X
Tea is bad for anxiety? How so? I never would’ve thought!! Getting help has changed my life in the best way possible! I recovered because I got the help I needed and the medication I needed! Baby steps is key! You aren’t alone x best of luck to you
Me either until yesterday, she asked if i was tea/ coffee drinking ( working in a office it’s was clearly a yes) she advised that it can really help to set off anxiety! But thank you! x
Chloe having a name to put to what is going on will be easier -- but don't let it define you either! Once I got help YES I did start to feel better - it definitely helped me if for no other reason than knowing there was someone who I could go talk to who understood what I was going through and let me vent about it!!
I can't believe that ALL tea is bad for anxiety -- maybe caffeinated and if you drink too much of it but decaf and herbals should be SOOTHING and helping if you enjoy it!!! Try some of the meditation/grounding techniques - you might try the videos - they are a bit easier to stick with since it's video and audio. Also try some music that you like to listen to using headphones -- I found that that helps me somewhat as I can sort of "lose my thoughts" by singing along, etc. Another thing that may work is using the 5 things technique -- 5: Acknowledge FIVE things you see around you. Maybe it is a bird, maybe it is pencil, maybe it is a spot on the ceiling, however big or small, state 5 things you see.
4: Acknowledge FOUR things you can touch around you. Maybe this is your hair, hands, ground, grass, pillow, etc, whatever it may be, list out the 4 things you can feel.
3 - LISTEN: Listen for 3 sounds. It could be the sound of traffic outside, the sound of typing or the sound of your tummy rumbling. internal noises that make external sounds can count, what is audible in the moment is what you list.
2: Acknowledge TWO things you can smell: This one might be hard if you are not in a stimulating environment, if you cannot automatically sniff something out, walk nearby to find a scent. Maybe you walk to your bathroom to smell soap or outside to smell anything in nature, or even could be as simple as leaning over and smelling a pillow on the couch, or a pencil. Whatever it may be, take in the smells around you.
1. Acknowledge ONE thing you can taste. What does the inside of your mouth taste like, gum, coffee, or the sandwich from lunch? Focus on your mouth as the last step and take in what you can taste
Relaxation scripts or aduio can also help you to settle down - esp. when you need to sleep - you can google to find some that you like.
