Iv been suffering with anxiety for about 6 weeks now. It's awful. When it first started I was back and forth to docs and hospital they put it down to loosing my mum now 4 years ago. Which I never really delt with as was pregnant with my youngest and had to think of that and her. So been a mum took over. Then this happened iv had 1 meeting with a brevment conceller next one this week. But it's truly awful I go dizzy on edge feel like I have heartburn burping. Shack burn up irritable twitch under my right eye. Worrying about some thing happening to me. I take karms as don't want to start taking auntie ds. Will this ever go away and will i ever feel normal again? Oh and when this started I stopped smoking the day I had my first attack.... any help would be appreciated xx

Hi
Im so sorry to hear your having such a terrible time! I suffer from severe anxiety and can completely relate to everything your experiencing. I would be terrified, overwhelmed by a fear but I was never sure quite of what. I would be restless and pace around in a worry only getting myself more wound up, I eventually went to my doctor when one Sunday afternoon, completely out of nowhere I had a panic attack that was like nothing id ever had before. I went to my doctor and she talked through where the root of the problem may be with me before putting me on the waiting list for CBT and therapy. In the meantime she prescribed me Sertraline, I took Kalms before but it never really worked. I have been taking the Sertraline for 3 months now and its made an amazing difference. I have Diazepam for when I feel a panic attack coming on but haven't needed it since I started the new meds. I never wanted to be on medication for it but its made such a difference to my life, I no longer panic when im alone or if I loose my partner in the supermarket or when we're out. I find my day to day life much easier and my college grades have improved because my attendance has gone up, I no longer skip days through fear of going out.
Once I start receiving CBT and therapy I hope to deal with the issue and come off the medication slowly.
It has helped me so much. I really hope you find something that works for you soon!
Hugs, J xoxo
Hi, so did this medication stop the head pressure and loopy feeling? I was taking clonozpam but was not helping me😫.
I also take clonozopam and it doesnt help the head pressure or anything, kind of makes it worse.is your pressure only on one side or is it both?mines only on my right side which makes my ear and for head feel pressure too,but I also have allergies which still doesnt make sence why it would just be on one side.
Thank you so much do they make you feel worse before better. ? I don't want dizipam. I have to go out to pick kids up from school which I a good thing cos I have to do it. I'm ment to be going on hubby Christmas party which is a very formal event and really really want to go as we don't get out much together. But worried that all this will start and spoil it for him. Xx
I also have my partners Christmas party this month which is also very formal, I have been feeling anxious about it for months but now as I'm improving I'm actually starting to look forward to it!
No, they didn't make me feel worse first, took a week or 2 to have an affect but no side effects as yet
I'm not a fan of the diazepam myself so I'm delighted I haven't needed them since starting the new meds xoxo
