Is it just me?

I wake up every of its to use the bathroom and my heart is throbbing! Like pounding hard I can feel it in my body just pounding hard! Idk if it’s because you get out of bed and walk or idk it’s hard to explain. But I woke up with thoughts that I was going to die or someone is coming for me?!.. feeling derealization as well like I can’t seem to Grasp on Reality. As if Iam living too deep inside my body always concentrated in the symptoms of feelings I get then it causes me to go into a panic. Has anyone ever felt or feel this way?

Hiya.

I feel like this every day.wake up to heart racing and skipping and feel panic going all through my body all day.its a horrible feeling and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

It's just a constant state of hyper awareness and panic.i try to take some deep breaths and rationalise my thoughts.just know it's all anxiety and panic and you will be okay x

I get it Minnie! What you are both describing I have had time and again. It always ends up to be a stomach virus or a GI problem. WHen my gut settles down, those feelings go away.

It would just be so nice to wake up one day and not feel surges or adreneline or panic and horrible symptoms all day.its exhausting.

AMEN to that!

I notice that When I sleep on a couch, sofa, divan ( whatever you call it in your country) I wake up without that surge.

I also found that when a weighted blanket, ( heavy quilt folded many times), is placed on me I sleep better and the surge is slow to drop, if at all.

Not sure why that happens, but when I am in a " spell" of anxiety, I will sleep anywhere but in my own bed, with a VERY heavy cover.

Sorry to hear this is getting more difficult to cope with. What are you doing to cope with or overcome these thoughts and bodily responses?

Usually do deep breathing techniques or meditate. Also pray to find comfort. It works most days

Glad to hear that you have found a set of practices which generally work. I sometimes feel it is difficult to focus on praying in the middle of an episode but I can use scripture verses in a repetitive way to help me focus until I can pray more freely.

I recently read this article which I thought you might find interesting because it talks about reading and praying the Psalms in the Bible saying "Psalms anticipate and train you for every possible spiritual, social and emotional condition". See what you think: bit.ly/2NLl9Le

This sounds like a vagus nerve response. It happens to me every time I get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. My heart doctor said to increase my salt and it has helped. Its an autonomic nervous system dysfunction. I have passed out many times from it. Just remember if you get hot or nauseated just lay down and you should not pass out. I also get cold water on my neck ASAP. By the way this all started when I turned 50. Its been going on 2 1/2 years. The loss of estrogen for a woman is a big deal. Good luck and don't worry just get up slowly and stay hydrated during the day and salt your food!
