I can’t believe that I am here

After years of dealing with anxiety I have never sought out help like this. I feel like this is all my fault and can’t tell friends and family. Only my wife and a few others know. Basically, I’ve tried to bury my anxiety.

I am tired of feeling like this. My medication helps but I need help from someone.

I guess I am here because I am tired of being alone with this. Please help me.

Hi nickeeval, I too don’t use this forum much I did when I first started searching for help on anxiety online and I felt better after doing some CBT but lately my anxiety has come back and I get that with you some family members of mine know, then to others I’m sure they see me as a strong independent person, my cover up but you are not alone it’s better to talk it out, we aren’t professionals but you are seeing a doctor so that helps, we are here to share stories, to show each other that these symptoms are awful but we can get through the worst of them, talking it out and if u can listen to Claire weekes on you tube she’s all about dealing with our anxiety, she’s great, I know this is so hard but I’m here if you want to talk anytime

hi there,I love to help others and hope this helps you ,im the same in the sense that my anxieties have hit me forcibly over the past 8 months--stress has probably caused it but its never been so bad ,2mg diazepam helps for a very short while trying to curb my intake-my family have no understanding nor patience so I personally wouldn't go there-but it could very well ease your mind if you confide in someone---as ive mentioned already DrClaire Weeks is an excellent ambassador-and very clear and to the point I urge you to read or listen to video online, dont have the link (bit silly with modern technology)..hoping it helps ,she certainly clarifies the meaning of Anxiety/panic nerves-hoping that helps.

Hello Nick, as someone who suffered with anxiety disorder for years and am now recovered, I can tell you that it is definitely possible to recover from it. For years I needlessly hid my guilt and shame and the person I was really hurting the most was myself. The old saying - the most difficult journey in life and the most rewarding is the journey inward, is really true.

You're doing great by taking the first step and posting on this forum. Take it further by finding a good therapist to work with and educating yourself about how to recover from anxiety disorder, you will be so glad you did.
