I am currently coming off lorazepam as my doctor decided it is not good and put me in a bit of a corner. However I was on 4 and after 12 weeks down to 2. Which I consider not bad going and to be honest not as bad as I thought. A lot of issues from the past have surfaced though of anger and my poor husband is getting it all. He is eighty and I am 70. Also I am getting pains in knees and back due to a trauma a few years ago and what with that and all the uncertainty of seeing the doctor next Tuesday when I know she is going to drop another half, I have hit a rough spot. Do I have the right to ask for her to keep me on two for a while.

hi if you are still under stress tell your gp this that your not ready to come off your meds yet ,or reduced and explain your situation,but I think the gps both in uk and usa.like to wean patients off that type of med as is with th diazepam im on for severe anxiety -especially if your older ..good luck.

Gillybabe48, you're doing good. When I came off my benzos, the psychiatrist had me cut dosage ever so slowly every 2 weeks. The idea was to never go back up on a dose but maybe your doctor would allow you to take an extra week on the dose you are at. Good Luck. xx
