Hi, I have never posted anywhere before about the constant symptoms I have had for 14 years following a really frightening experience for treatment of spinning vertigo (BPPV). It was successfully treated but a couple of days later I started to get a myriad of symptoms. The worst is the sensation of being on a boat when I walk. I was told I am hyperventilating. I have tried many treatments but so far no success. I really feel for everyone here who suffers with anxiety as outwardly no one can tell what sensations you are suffering from from an over sensitised nervous system that is stuck in ‘alarm mode’. Does anyone else experience the rocking sensation when they walk and have had any success getting rid of it?

Rocking sensation when I walk
Hi, Orca. Yes - this has been a BIG one for me over the last 6 years! It led to almost complete agoraphobia. If only I knew when it started that it was the anxiety bully up to it's tricks. I find by practising relaxation every day that I am better able to face it head on now and just accept it for what it is. It hasn't gone completely in high stress situations but doesn't scare me so much now. I just kinda mock it and say 'oh, you again. Ok......let's do this'. I hope with time it will get bored and shuffle off never to reappear. Good luck! xxxx
Hi Tempesteapot,
Thank you SO much for your message and to know you are able to manage this horrible sensation. It is so helpful to hear from someone who has experienced the same thing as Doctor’s just don’t understand. I will work on relaxation exercises like you say. Because I trained as a physiotherapist (I don’t work as one now) my medical background has led me to thinking I have some kind of nerve damage because I also have blurred vision and tingling hands, feet, mouth etc. constantly. You are so right, anxiety is a bully! Take care xxx
YEP me too........had it at Barns and Noble one day and grabbed onto the book shelves AS THOUGH, I was on a boat that was moving.
* I was freaking FINE*..........well not fine, but you know.............
