Yes, this is derealization, a scary symptom of anxiety. It wont cause a stroke or anything dangerous.
As someone5673 says, this is derealisation or depersonalisation, I used to call it the "I feel I'm not hrre" feeling.
What's happened is that your mind is trying to distance you and protect you from the reality of the situation you're anxious about. It's very common and not harmful but it's not helpful.
As a symptom of anxiety along with 'jelly legs' and panic attacks it will pass once you accept it for the time being (rather than stressing and obsessing about it) and successfully address your anxiety disorder.
Btw my name's Jeff, I don't care who knows, why is your name hidden?
Jeff some prefer anonymity, which is understandable, people here know my first name but nothing else Mental health is still taboo to some people! Hopefully this will change before too long,
Yes J had it years ago and it's so scary and horrible but it's just an anxiety symptom so don't worry it won't harm you in any way It's very common too Take Jeff's advice he says some very wise words and I know like me he will recommend you get Dr Claire Weekes books they are amazing and will help you so much All the best
