Does anyone else ever put them-self into what could be a tough situation, just to test your ability to assess the situation, take mental notes about the situation(why you feel anxious, what about the situation triggered your panicky symptoms, what did you do to try and relax)in order to see if you can calm yourself down? I’ve gotten the nerve to do this as of lately(past 2 months), and it actually helps me cope with situations that I randomly encounter.
Hey, what the heck 🤷♂️: Does anyone else... - Anxiety Support
Hey, what the heck 🤷♂️
Stan, if it works for you great. after a 100 times at the dentist I am still anxious about going. every single time. BTW, have you had a stress test for your heart before? I need one done but putting it off due to afraid I will have an anxiety attack. LOL
Honestly azmarktb, those are the two things that I absolutely cannot stand 😩The dentist and the doctor. I go beyond anxious smh. I don’t put myself into any major situations, but I’ll go to an event where I’d have to get up and walk through people to get to the exit which is all the way across the room and it just happens to be the ONLY exit lol or standing in long lines at the grocery store with a buggy full of groceries lol!
yeh, I hear ya. I get anxiety if I am closed in in any way. For example, if I go to a movie, I have to sit on the aisle seat, cannot be stuck in the middle. cant be a passenger in a car ever, cant go to someplace where the doors are locked. I m a complete mess.
Smh. Yeah, and imagine winning a trip to an island or a foreign country 🤦♂️ I could do a big cruise ship, but an airplane....ha haaa! No way smh. You’re not alone. Sitting by the exits are a must if at all possible. The car thing isn’t that bad for me, depending on the driver or if it’s raining lol!
Yes. I have driving anxiety. Sometimes I push myself further and use my box of strategies.
