I used to be on here a lot and post frequently about my symptoms and fears etc., but for the past six months things have been going much better. I even have a job! If anyone wants to message me about anything you can and I'll try my best to help. Love you all (:
Hey!: I used to be on here a lot and post... - Anxiety Support
Hey!
Hey
What were you suffering with? I just quickly read some of your post.. was it depersonalization/ derealization? If so, how did you get better? Any medication? I been in this hell for a little over 3 months. Feeling like everything is a dream, intense vision and so on....
I have had derealization since I was about 17 and I'm 21 now. I got it from smoking weed almost every day for two years. I think the weed kind of "re-trained" my brain and gave me the anxiety and derealization. Anxiety runs in my family so I shouldn't have smoked in the first place. What I did was kind of re-train my brain again by completely ignoring it no matter how bad it got and letting go of all of my negative thoughts. Doing things that are mentally stimulating really helps too. Sudoku or Tetris or a deep conversation or just anything where you have to focus. I am on antidepressants. Prozac and Imipramine and those have helped a lot with the anxiety. Some days I still get the derealization and the vision problems and I just want to lie in bed. But that only makes it worse. Once you go out more and more and get more and more active you start to realize that no matter how bad you feel nothing bad will happen to you.
This gives me some hope. When this first started I felt horrific. I couldn't even get out of my bed or open my eyes. But slowly I started forcing myself to do my normal routine. Now 3 months later, I am able to do everything easily but with those feelings and thoughts. It's exhausting. I am on this medication called Amitrypiline that only really helps with sleep. I didn't sleep got 9 weeks when this started. I'm wondering if another medication might help better.
Definitely tell your psychiatrist if the medicine isnt working. Certain meds match certain people's genes and others dont so they dont work as well
I know. I did the genesight test and Prozac was on the list of medicines that could work but also the one I'm on. So I don't know
Yeah, weirdly some of the meds that DO match your genes don't work. I had that experience with Buspar. Who knows? anxiety is so complicated.
