Does anxiety ever go away on its own? Or is it something you’ll have to live for the rest of your life? Its been a year since I experienced my first panic attack after a couple of months it seemed to have gone away but now i feel it creeping up again😞

In my opinion I don't think that anxiety will go away on its own. However I think it's up to you whether you live with it for the rest of your life/ how bad it is the rest of your life. For me personally, I know that it's something I have to work with everyday and the more self-care I do, the better I feel. I believe in the long run these actions of self-care and changing thinking patterns will help me. Obviously everyone has anxiety from time to time but you do not have to live with full on anxiety for you life. Work hard on fixing yourself and looking after yourself and you will see changes!

I believe that once you’ve experienced panic and anxiety the memory imprints itself into your brain so it is always there. I think that the choice is yours whether or not to embrace it as a part of you or to live inside the fear. Of course, as with most things, there is work to do but it’s worth it. It is possible to live a happy and normal life with occasional bouts of anxiety. There is a book by Claire Weekes called Pass Through Panic that I found to be profoundly helpful. Perhaps you could start there. And maybe consult a physician if you think that medicine might help. Personally I am not on a regular anti anxiety medication anymore but I do keep klonopin around for the times that I feel like I need it. Like any chronic condition, this may be something that you have to live with but you can rise above it. Be good to yourself. Manage your symptoms. Don’t let this define you.

Unfortunately no. It will never leave. You just have to find a way of accepting it and moving on with your life the best way you can. Best of luck.

I've experienced three periods in my life when severe anxiety has been prevalent in my life (at age 19, 31 & now, at 65). Each episode has been connected to when my circumstances have been less than ideal (i.e. illness of loved ones, a job that proved stressful etc.), but in the periods between these episodes I have lived what I consider to be a "normal" life with very little anxiety.

So I know that I don't handle stress well, but I also know that my panic attacks & other anxiety symptoms will subside when life is kinder. Can you understand why you have become anxious now? I hope that your experience is similar to mine.
