OK so my husbands grandmother is in the hospital on life support after having a massive stroke. Doctors say she won't make it. When I first went to the hospital with him to see her, after that I have been having panic attacks and my head feels like I'm not getting blood flow when I stand up, like that feeling you get when your about to pass out. It shot through my head then went away. My heart started racing and I couldn't get a single breath. My head still feels like I have no blood flow, very uncomfortable is this anxiety or a medical problem?

Hospital Anxiety
It might be anxiety but you should get it checked by a doctor just to put your mind at ease.
I get the dizziness sometimes, if I stand up to quickly, it can all be a sinus thing or anxiety.
Get it looked at. ☺️
Hi it's 100% anxiety. Incredible but true. Use a heating pad on the back of your head and neck. Drink chamomile tea. I've had those symptoms too.
Do you usually feel triggered by being in medical facilities like hospitals or doctor's offices? It's very likely that the symptoms you experienced are a result of being in the hospital and/or seeing your husband's grandmother so sick. My health anxiety is so severe that I cannot accompany family members to the hospital or visit people who are sick. I end up in an embarrassing display of feeling like I'm going to pass out and feeling like the blood is draining out of my head. Sometimes I've even laid down on the dirty hospital floors because my vision started tunneling. It leaves me feeling drained and panicky for days after. The only time I did NOT experience these symptoms was when my son was very sick with the flu and bacterial pneumonia and had to be hospitalized for a few days. I suppose my concern over his health superseded my stupid anxiety, thankfully.
Thank! I'm so happy to know I am not the only one. Yes it triggers me to go to the hospital. She had a massive stroke and she's dying and everytime I visit her my anxiety goes all crazy and I feel like I'm having one. I currently have an ear infection and that's making things much worse. Thank you so much though!
Being "one of us" you have every reason to have felt the way you did that day.
IT MIGHT NOT happen again. SO don't expect it to.
Sometimes that initial shock, of seeing LIFE so fragile, hits us in our core because most of us are empathetic to a fault. Your reaction was actually normal. Those head zaps and twisty's are a normal reaction of adrenaline flowing.
You can relax, it's normal and you are not alone.
Francescia61 suggested heat on your neck and tea. Great suggestion.
I am a big fan of "security behaviors",( that is NOT recommended normally), but if I went back to see Granny, I personally would make up a hot water bottle and a roadie hot tea with lots of sugar and go.
Welcome to the land of adrenaline.
