I'm sorry I'm late replying here and I'm also sorry I couldn't reassure you when you were panicking. I'm in the UK so there's a big time difference. When I'm sleeping...many aren't so please accept my apologies. It was a pretty severe one from your words....you did the absolutely right thing by writing on here...its a brilliant distraction. If you have another attack....breathe deeply. It's paramount you do this. It's hard to do...i get that, when one is trying to gasp for breath but it's the only way you can calm yourself without dialling 911 or 999 here. I always advise breathing in thro the nose(mouth closed) and count 1....2....3....4 DO NOT HOLD YOUR BREATH ON 4 and breathe out thro your mouth on 5....6...7...8. It works for quite a large percentage of ppl but not everyone. We all have different methods of coping thro an attack. Fear freezes you...it literally has one thinking about the attack for days/ weeks later...fearing the next, so if you can get to a point where you know you can calm yourself...you will feel a little better. I hope you are alright....if you get a min...let us know. Thankyou. Janie

Janie.... thank you so so much for your sweet words of advice and for taking the time to writing to me. I’m doing much better now but as you can tell, I REALLY was in a true state of panic by misspelling attack lol. Anyway, I’m just overwhelmed with money and just don’t know how to place my thoughts in the right places. I try to do everything all at once. It’s very scary. And I’m always glad to come out of the funk. Sigh... what helped me is my cousin and bf be there for me as I kinda broke down. I’m frustrated with myself and I know this isn’t true but I do feel like I’m the only one going through it-.

You are very very welcome and again I'm sorry I wasn't there for you thro the attack. They are mind and body numbing and thank goodness you have ppl there that understand...so many don't have that support and support is paramount in recovery so you don't know how pleased I am that they were there for you. With money try and break things down. So for instance...you have x amount for groceries, x amount for utilities, x amount for everything else. Write every single thing down...it really helps and your mind can make a little sense of it. Use different colours for different things then you know what to focus on and what you can leave for another day and concentrate on those that need more attention. Debt is overwhelming and there's very few who don't panic(footballers etc...ill say no more or I'll end up going of on one lol). Debt is up there for reasons why ppl have anxiety and depression...trust me when I say you aren't the only one...this forum is full of us all that in one way or another has suffered/is still suffering on this rollercoaster. Please use it more often if you can..its rare there's no-one around and someone will always get back to you. But you are most definitely not alone...its hard not to feel this as it's a lonely place to be...our heads I mean. But here...we get it and we got you!! Janie x
