This is my third day having nightmares and I keep waking up in a panic. I don't know what's going on with my anxiety but it has been through the roof! I'm taking my medication like I'm supposed to, I do relaxation, I take warm baths, I try to clear my mind & I just dragged myself this whole weekend by decorating my house putting up my Christmas tree and I have no idea what's going on. I feel like I'm lost and I'm alone in this world like I'm not in my own body. I'm so sick of feeling sick all the time and I'm so tired of being tired. Anxiety is draining me and these nightmares have got to go. Every night before I go to bed I start thinking about the nightmares reoccurring. I try to take sleeping pills to help me sleep & they work but I wake up in the morning in a panic because of the nightmares does anyone else feel this way or get this way?? How can i get these nightmares to go away???
Nightmares👻😫: This is my third day having... - Anxiety Support
Nightmares👻😫
Well lets think about this for a second what are the dreams each night? Are they the same do they include the same person or place or events?
What i recommend if you cant answer this currently start jotting down what you remember as soon as you wake up in that panic mode and jot it down in a journal this way you can decipher if your dream is a message or just randomness
Our dreams usually are our memories we play the events of the day that happened and we try to re create different scenarios
For example we get better at sports or activities not only by practicing but we actually practice the sport or activity we learned and did that day in our sleep this is why you feel you kinda got the hang of it more the next morning because you trained even in your slee
Our minds are very sophisticated but once you learn your own it is very powerful tool
As far as your nightmares causing anxiety try doing different things in the day less stress throgh out the day before bed the less noghtmares you may encounter
Do feel free to tell us the dreams in great detail as best as you can and maybe some of us can decipher a message or possibility of the dream especially dreams that occur over and over usually are prophetic dreams or are messages
I believe dreams we do not remember us having are the DEJAVU factors we feel through out the days
If you think about it it makes sense
Makes Great Sense. And yes they have been about same Events. Mostly me Dealing with someone in a Hospital? Something to do with a Hospital, i was just in the hospital today when my friend ended up with a Kidney Infection. And it did put me in a state of panic. But that was Yesterday Morning. It's 4:00am and I usually wake up thinking because of hospital related things it's kind of a Blurt for me to remember what it was or means but next time I will remember to Jot it down! Thanks xoxo
Hello. Nightmares are horrible for me for 17 years, after a large truck hit me. My service dog used to wake me at the early parts of the dreams, but he is gone now. Some of my nightmares are similar in teme and some are not and violent. I have PTSD type anxiety and I do practice dream changing, which helped with one type of nightmare. Currently, I take a low dose of generic Xanax, muscle relaxer, and a blood pressure med. The combination is cutting down the number of nights where the nightmares are the very horrible violent ones. I don't have a blood pressure issue, but my neuropsychiatrist RX it because the military is having good results with PTSD soldiers who have flashbacks and nightmares. Don't know if anyone has really determine why it helps, but it does. I took my blood pressure in the mornings for awhile to make certain my blood pressure was not too low.
I'm so sorry to hear about your accident. I have PTSD due to domestic Violence. Very Violent. So I take Prices in to help with my High Blood pressure and also pedal to and Xanax as well. I was suppose to see my Physician and missed the appointment because I didn't want to get out of bed that day! I just stayed at Home and cried. I'm going through a very rough time at the moment and can t seem to get it together even with the meds. I see MY Psychiatrist soon. So I hope she can help me with dosing up my xanax or prozasin. But I always seem to wake up at 4 or 5am from a Nightmare then I end up having anxiety I'm shaking and can t get my mind straight. I just wish it'll go away!
Hello Whereisfreedom. Understand what you are saying. Now here comes your wicked "aunt" talking with you. No matter how you are feeling DO NOT MISS ANy DOCTOR APPOINTMENT. They need to see what you are like on those horrible days when you don't want to get out of bed.
If you aren't in condition to drive, please call a friend or uber and get yourself to the doctor even if you are in pajamas, slippers, and a robe. (comb your hair, though. We all have some grooming pride no matter what.)
Xanax and prazosin aren't going to CURE this no matter how high a dose your doctor gives you and the nightmares are going to be with you to some degree. But the medications do help while we are recovering. Mine nightmares are just a bit less violent and bit less frequent. It will take time and work with your therapist. Ask about a domestic violence support group. I experienced some acts of violence decades ago and until recently some of the nightmares were about that.
You can be better, it is rough now, but I do hope you are safe and away from the person at whose hand you experience the violence. I'm not going anywhere and neither are the other members of this venue. Write as often as necessary. There will be a much better future, but it is not going to be easy, but it is do-able.
I don't know if there is a domestic violence venue in Health Unlocked, but check the list and see. That could provide you additional support to this venue. You desire a better life and you're going to get it if you work with your doctors and therapists xx
