What about the shakes? Nobody seems to mention the shakes.

Does anybody else get a slight tremor in their fingers when anxious? I've had it for years but I'm noticing it more. My mother who suffered from anxiety used to get it when cutting my hair, nearly took an ear off. I'm getting on in years and slight tremor can be normal. 35 years ago I saw a clairvoyant who told me I had an uncle George who had a glass eye, he wasn't wrong, so I've tended to believe what he said next: "You will never have a major illness in your life." Then he added: "Except the anxiety thing, of course." He's been right so far, but at my age Parkinsons can be a problem. So the question is: Does anybody get a slight tremor in their hands (like when turning pages in a book) when anxious?

Im 25 and my hands are always shaking with anxiety. The shaking never seems to go away. I’ve started to notice that I clench my jaw a lot more now too.

Thanks, allthingspretty, I don't really mean it when I say I'm glad you've got the tremor too, but you know what I mean.😊

Jeff1943, Is that really you reaching out with a question? Don't let a clairvoyant's reading put a "what if" fear in your mind. Yes, she was right about anxiety. Leave it at that. Many health issues can happen at any age. Shaking fingers and hand is a very common symptom of anxiety. I've noticed when I'm more stressed, carrying a cup of coffee will make my hand shake, carrying my purse in my hand will make my hand shake.

Don't forget we have been tensing our hands and fingers for 30 plus years, it doesn't come without some physical symptoms and not necessarily serious. Typing, carrying bags of groceries, driving, cooking, washing my car, holding a book (worst strain on hands and fingers) writing and holding a pen..... I never worry. I've done my share of abuse to my muscles for a very long time and they are now rebelling. My psychiatrist even concurred with me, that it was from Anxiety and over used muscles. :)

You and I both know that it is always in our best interest to have it checked out by your physician. We can't hide from what life gives us, so once again we have to go forward, know what's causing this and accepting it. I wish you well my friend. You are not alone

Thank you, Agora, for that reassurance. Funny thing is, as I hold my mobile phone (cellphone) with one hand now and the stylus with the other my hands are steady as a rock. Shows what a bit of reassurance will do. No, I'm mighty grateful to that clairvoyant 35 years ago telling me I'll never have a major illness and right so far, best five quids worth I ever paid. And he did say except for the anxiety which of course I knew by then anyway. Many thanks again.

One other thing Jeff, which I found has worked, is my willing to keep my hands steady. Believe it or not, the mind is a very powerful tool as we know so why not use it. :)

Thanks for that, Krn210, it's good to know I don't shake alone.

Yes definitely and sometimes it's not visual but I tell my fiance it feels like I'm shaking on the inside, and he stopped holding my hand as much cause my hands are sweaty and clammy most of the time. 😔

Thanks Wyoming, I once knew a professional photographer with shaking hands, all his photos came out slightly blurry, he told people it was a special effect done deliberately and they believed him, I knew different.

Maybe you could start painting. Believe it or not it can be very therapeutic. A slight wiggle will just make it more contemporary. The painting though is relaxing. My uncle is 70. His hands shake and he has anxiety. My hands don’t shake, just everything else. Although I do find myself twisting my hands when I’m very anxious. Anxiety affects every part of your body but originated in the nervous system which causes shaking and trembling.

Did you find the clairvoyant scary? My mom and grandmother used to be very attuned to the psychic world. One time my mom was having her cards read and the lady scooped them up told her to leave and never come back. It was something very bad. That always scared me. I wasn’t there I just heard what happened. I feel things but have always known God was talking to me. I would be too scared to dig deeper or go to a psychic because I am scared they would find something bad. As a Christian I believe it is evil. Comes from Satan. That may be because it scares me. I’m intrigued and much older I’m just still scared. How do you feel about it as it relates to Christianity?

Hopeful, no I didn't find it scarey but wouldn't go again as I'd prefer to take life as it comes. That clairvoyant who suddenly asked your mum to leave was most unprofessional and uncaring, they don't usually give you any negative stuff.

Clairvoyance is in keeping with God's purpose as it is proof of life to come and the progression of all souls.

The same applies to spiritual healing where God uses healing ministers in the realm of spirit to direct healing energy to mediums in this earthly realm who direct it towards the sick. These things I believe.

Thanks for the info about your uncke's 'shakes'.

Hello Jeff1943!

Yes I also get tremors in my limbs, sometimes I get it in my legs or it gets to the point where I can’t physically grasp anything until it’s calmed down. People have recommended using the breathing exercises to calm the shaking down or even just holding my hands out in front of me and concentrating on the spot just above them until it calms. I hope you are well other than that and that you enjoy the rest of your day 🙂

Thanks for that, Cs131193, I guess if we accept the shakes then they won't get any worse and might get better with time. The more we concentrate on these things the longer they continue.

Jeff1943, you’re very welcome 🙂 yes, acceptance is key for a lot of it, we can just focus on being positive, anxiety isn’t forever, it’s just a blip that some of us have to go through to become stronger 🙂

All the time especially bad during panic attacks. Sometimes they shake for days without stop and they get very cold as well.

I’m used to it now so don’t take a lot of notice of it.
